On the result of my DNA Test written that I have 1.2% Central American DNA, but both of my parents have no Central American DNA, not at all, however both my mother and I are connected to the same person in the USA.- How could this happen?- Where did I get the 1.2% Central American DNA from?It doesn’t make any sense to me, because if I have a percentage of American DNA, means at least one of my parents must have more percentage than me, right?Could you please explain this?
I've sent an email to MyHeritage Support about 2 weeks ago but there's not a single response until today. I hope I can get the answer here as soon as possible.
It looks like my first tube failed and when I went to track the status of my second tube, my kit is no longer listed on my account. It's been over three months, so I'm wondering what steps to take to get my results.
I sent 2 samples out at the same time. One was received 3 weeks ag an is now processing, the other hasn’t been received. I also had a kit mailed to the lab 3 months ago that was finally just replaced. Is this a normal occurrence for samples to randomly disappear on their way to the lab? I sent 3 last year with no issues.
Is there any information about data format for a successful dna file upload? I just uploaded a file from 23andMe, following your instructions, and got a message that MyHeritage doesn't recognize this file format. A look in the forum shows years of complaints about how long it takes, and changing file formats, etc. The 23andMe file looks pretty straightforward, but starts with about 20 lines of explanatory text. If I strip out that text, will the file be readable to MyHeritage? If I add column headings? Change to a csv format? Etc. Is there a file format specification that would allow a user to modify a file before uploading and not have to wait for some sort of personal attention from MyHeritage?
After receiving the results of my own DNA, I bought a DNA kit for my wife which was registered/activated on my account; the results have now arrived. My wife has opened an account in her own right and I need to know how she can access the results of her DNA profile, currently only available from my account.
My DNA kit just changed status to Microarray process in progress, not that it is going slow or anything, and I have an estimated time for online results of 13/03 to 20/03. But I literally can't wait, I'm so excited to know. Just wondering what's people experience, how long did it take for most of you from this step until you got final results?
Hi, I've tried uploading my 23andMe raw data several times and been met with a message saying something along the lines of "we're unable to read file format, however, we are working on accepting the file type and will let you know sometime in the future when we can accept the file type."
Which file formats are accepted? Can't I just change the file type and re-submit it? Since the raw data was downloaded and simply extracted from a zip folder via 23andMe - a site that is used by name as an example of the types of raw data information that can be uploaded on myHeritage - what is the problem?
I have already contacted support but have heard nothing other than an automated receipt reply. After uploading raw DNA from another site, it says "still being processed for matches." It's been at least a week but I want to say that it's probably been longer than that. Has this happened to anyone else? I'm about to delete my data. I don't know if the problem is with my file or what's going on.
I bought two kits to start with, one for my sister and one for my mum. A few days after my mum's results were back, she went from being 100 % European to being (as of today, 88.9% European and -here comes the change, also 11.1 % African).
My sister's results were posted a couple of days earlier and she did get some African DNA, but when my mother's were first posted, there was none.
My question is: How is this possible? Will results change every few weeks? I find this incredibly confusing and from what I've read from other users, it has happened to other people.
I posted my sample back to the USA from England nearly four weeks ago. I emailed a question to ask where it was in the process and if they had received it on 7th Feb. I am still waiting for a reply. I did put DNA in the title as asked to do. Any help would be appreciated as I don't know where I stand if they do not receive the sample? Have we wasted money and time for nothing?
I have been waiting for my DNA kit. I have checked the shipping and contacted via phone and no one knows why it hasn’t arrived yet. I ordered it very start of January. Please let me know how to get the kit delivered or resend a new one.
Maybe many people got a kit for Christmas but from the looks of the messages, they are backed up. It’s not even showing received at lab and I sent it weeks ago. Maybe honest informed consent would look like saying we will get to them when we can and it might take months. I’m looking elsewhere for reliable sites that get it done as promised. The status update is misleading. I look at it every few days and it still shows not received at lab.
I sent my dna sample back 6 weeks ago and it is still not showing up as received at the lab.
After emails and messages being sent and totally ignored i managed to actually talk to someone, and after being kept on hold on the telephone for 25 minutes the answer came back...."give it two more weeks then phone us again if it still doesn't show up as received"
I certainly wish i had used another company who don't give poor excuses or ignore them completely.
Just one more thing, if it wasn't for us so called "valued customers", this company wouldn't exist.
I have finished having a moan and now off to another website to purchase another dna kit, as for this one...i want my money back!
I've sent this email below to firstname.lastname@example.org but I still didn't get a reply so I am hoping I could get it on here.
If both vials of your DNA sample are readable, we will now store one in our robotic freezer in case it’s needed later, while the other will continue to the next steps of the lab process.
As you have mentioned that you will keep one of my DNA sample in your robotic freezer. So the question is can this be used in the future for Y chromosome testings? in case you might provide Y chromosome testings, because I wouldn't want to go through the trouble of receiving, shipping my DNA sample again. And my last question is can this DNA sample be referred to familytreeDNA as you're using the same lab? that's if its not needed of course.
I recieved this test as a gift. On January 11th, I signed up, performed the kit and mailed it.
It has still never showed up as a reading. I asked them, via chat, what the issue was. The said they didn't recieve it and to wait a week and check with them again. For some reason I can't seem to find the chat feature any more.
