1. It`s only one field when it`s possible to add parents to some person, but cursor it`s not put down in this field. It will be more comfortable for Family Tree Builder, next FTB, users when ths e cursor will be put in this field.
2. Sorting by First Name, Last Name, Birth Day and Death Day doesn`t woerks OK.
If sorting is made and after that photo to a person is adde, sporting is aut. sortng must be made ones more, and the some around and around.
Here's a tip for anyone who has, or is just faced with, the lazy habits of the texting generation. Always use Capital Letters at the beginning of people's names. The Smart Matches, Record Matches and Instant Discoveries will work much better when you do.
I.E. Don't type mary jones Type Mary Jones. If you find names in your tree that are spelt in all lower case letters, then you should correct these.
I found identical persons as a match, but one is listed as my g-g-grandfather's half-sister's g-daughter. The other one shows no relationship to my site, even though both are on the same site. Hoping no other family relations are missed somehow. Can anyone explain this ?
If a Smart Match matches a person on my tree, but some of the information (birth date, birth place, etc) is--as far as my research goes--wrong, do I still Confirm the Match? When the other person receives confirmation, don't they then assume all their info is correct? I'm confused.
I have learned a lot from the Matches, but I also see what looks to be a propagation of the same error, over and over again. Wouldn't it be more helpful if there were some device to alert others that the Confirmation isn't confirming ALL their info?
The message "Could not save match to tree. Reason: incorrect type of id (must be either string or MHPersonNodeId): NULL (500)." shows when i´m trying to add new findings in Smart Matches -What does it mean and why can´t I add these new matches? -What can I do to add these new matches automatically -or must I handle the new findings"manually" by my self and add them "one by one" in my tree? / Ingela Wijkström (Västerås, Sweden)
Is there anything inherent in smart matching--besides due diligence on the part of the community--that keeps errors from propagating through trees? If I add a wholly fictitious person to my tree, will anything keep it from being copied and recopied and coming back to me as a "smart match"? In other words, should I treat smart matches as anything more than hints?
Very often I find 2, 3 or 4 matches for one person in the same three. This problem startet with the new functions - copy and discoveries. It would be nice, if you where asked when close similaryties occurs - Christian/Kristian is one examble.
Two weeks ago "Smart Matching" no longer added information or close relatives to my tree upon confirmation. The feature accepts the match as complete but no new information or close relatives are posted to my tree.
After a few emails were exchanged with Tech Support the problem was identified as a "Bug" and my issue was logged.
Today the problem expanded. I can no longer edit or add information to anyone in my tree. When I attempt to do so I get an "Error" message, advising me to "Try again later". This new development has lasted throughout the day.
I use MyHeritage online rather than FTB due to past data loss.
Can anyone advise if there is anything I can do to remedy or work-around these problems?
I am new here. I uploaded my gedcom, over 10,000 people. Smart matches has been working on this for thirty hours now. What is going on? I expect that with a fairly large sized set as I have, it might not get done in five minutes but this is ridiculous.
Also, I bought a premium account. I filed a support message, got a ticket, but no response...waiting over a day.
