Can anyone explain why I am offered 11 Instant Discoveries, and after I select one and map in the new persons offered, it then refuses to let me act on any of the others.? Instead, it says it's processing to find new discoveries, instead of letting me act on the others I already have. I get to work about one every other day.
And I have yet to be offered a single Smart Match. I have ~7,000 souls in my tree so it's not as if there aren't persons to find matches for. What's wrong there?
Hi how do I go around the discouverie match and add it my self since I already know the info that it's showing me and I don't want to pay which I think is very sneaky. I already know a lot of the info so I just wanted to make a tree.
Was also wondering why no month to month payment options.
I came across Mandy Bennett on this site as my sister Denise and her share the same ancestors. In this case John George Bennett and John William Hadfield Bennett and yet they don't get a smart match? I happened to come across 2 family trees, one of a granddaughter and of Mandy Bennett, just looking.
1. It`s only one field when it`s possible to add parents to some person, but cursor it`s not put down in this field. It will be more comfortable for Family Tree Builder, next FTB, users when ths e cursor will be put in this field.
2. Sorting by First Name, Last Name, Birth Day and Death Day doesn`t woerks OK.
If sorting is made and after that photo to a person is adde, sporting is aut. sortng must be made ones more, and the some around and around.
Here's a tip for anyone who has, or is just faced with, the lazy habits of the texting generation. Always use Capital Letters at the beginning of people's names. The Smart Matches, Record Matches and Instant Discoveries will work much better when you do.
I.E. Don't type mary jones Type Mary Jones. If you find names in your tree that are spelt in all lower case letters, then you should correct these.
I found identical persons as a match, but one is listed as my g-g-grandfather's half-sister's g-daughter. The other one shows no relationship to my site, even though both are on the same site. Hoping no other family relations are missed somehow. Can anyone explain this ?
If a Smart Match matches a person on my tree, but some of the information (birth date, birth place, etc) is--as far as my research goes--wrong, do I still Confirm the Match? When the other person receives confirmation, don't they then assume all their info is correct? I'm confused.
I have learned a lot from the Matches, but I also see what looks to be a propagation of the same error, over and over again. Wouldn't it be more helpful if there were some device to alert others that the Confirmation isn't confirming ALL their info?
The message "Could not save match to tree. Reason: incorrect type of id (must be either string or MHPersonNodeId): NULL (500)." shows when i´m trying to add new findings in Smart Matches -What does it mean and why can´t I add these new matches? -What can I do to add these new matches automatically -or must I handle the new findings"manually" by my self and add them "one by one" in my tree? / Ingela Wijkström (Västerås, Sweden)
Is there anything inherent in smart matching--besides due diligence on the part of the community--that keeps errors from propagating through trees? If I add a wholly fictitious person to my tree, will anything keep it from being copied and recopied and coming back to me as a "smart match"? In other words, should I treat smart matches as anything more than hints?
