I have recently found other tree that has information about my relatives and got access to it. Unfortunatelly I can't get infromation from that tree into mine for some reason.
First of all there were no automatic matches (and I waited for few days)
Secondly I could not find the person by full name, getting no matches (even if I copy - paste name exactly).
So I did a search by last name only and found correct entry marked as private. It should be accessible for me, but still in the search I see it as private (I still can click through it to get to full information in other tree).
Now I attached it to the person entry in my tree, but still can't extract any information - it just says that information would be available shortly for few hours already.
In a smart match with one of my ancestors, all the female descendents of George Ellis Cadle and Martha Maria Bruwer have their maiden names recorded as their surnames, andI have been asked to confirm these so-called.'matches'. I am reluctant to confirm matches which contain errors.Can My Heritage fix this problem?
I noticed that I am only able to add one instant discovery per day.
I can see that there are several instant discoveries available to me but I get the following message after I add one instant discovery and then access the instant discovery page again:
We're processing more Discoveries for you.Please check again tomorrow. In the meantime, you can explore your list of matches. ""
I have been uploading record matches to my tree and I have noticed that there are mistakes in the transcriptions of the details of the records shown on My Heritage. For example, a quarter on the actual English marriage index is April May June but My Heritage gives a different quarter, Bury near Manchester is given as Bury St Edmunds and Bradford in Yorkshire is given as Bradford on Avon. I wanted to e-mail My Heritage to tell them but I can't find an e-mail address!
I have recently started using record matches with my "complete" subscription, and I managed to get a lot of matches with familysearch matches... for several I got matches with photos, which I didn't have in my family tree, but I was unable to add them... how to do that? Not manually I hope?
So if I have one major complaint about MyHeritage and Discoveries it is the number of repeating Facts. For example: Let's say I have a Great Grandfather named Floyd Hornblower and there are 25 Discoveries for him, only one or two actually added some significant information. Once accepted and updated, the remaining 23 are repeating the same info over and over however I have to review each to see if there is any additional little tidbit of info to extract. The overwhelming majority of the time after review, nothing is added however they remain out there for review. The more individuals you add, the number of redundant discoveries are exponentially generated. The function that is needed is much like the Tree Checker Recalculate function witch eliminates matching discoveries. If I already know Great Grandpa Floyd was born on December 11, 1877 in Saint Louis, Missouri, I don't need to review it again. The Discoveries are not dynamic, by that I mean once generated the differences remain as originally generated even though already changed. Perhaps the option is available however it is not obvious to me. Frankly I will never catch up with the discoveries, currently 595 people with 2,871 matches, which leads me to believe I should have never started this process. The more individuals added only digs a deeper hole for me to get out of. So I receive an "Instant Dscovery" which adds 15 people to my tree, now I have 3,000 that will never be reviewed. Not gonna to do it scooter. Please help....
I want to thank My Heritage for all my new Discoveries of my Jackson-Lascelles family and Avenel and Avenel de Saye and Bairz, extremly greatful the information. I am sorry if I was too rude about the waiting for the New Discoveries.
What do you do if you get a smart match where you know it is the same person but some of the important data in that other person's tree is incorrect. I want to confirm the match but feel I am then confirming false info. I don't have time to keep contacting people about these errors. Should I confirm or not?
I submitted my DNA raw data and then the results showed some strange matches, like high DNA match (1st do 2nd cousin) but with no evident relationship with my country. In a particular match, I re-check our relationship in GEDmatch and there's no relationship at all!
Is it possible that matches were calculated wrong? What should I do?
Just had my 2ggmother pop up on smart match as my 1st cousin 4x removed...I know I can expect that in part because she & her husband were 2nd cousins....but the degree of separation isn't correct, at least by my calculation....
I have just received a massive number of new record matches (over 1000!)
There seem to be many cases where a couple have 2 plausible marriage certificates - a few days apart in slightly different locations. Mostly 17th and 18th century. Would it have been usual for a couple to have 2 ceremonies, one for each family? If not, how do I work out which is correct?
Since the implementation of the new discovery format, I keep getting smart matches in the list that when Review is selected, the page shows an empty result with the message "no matches...", It begins with one and is now up to six matches with no data.

I continue to see information that has been blended to my family.... example....
Phebe Curtis - My Phebe married William S Terwilliger and then remarried George Rowe. The MyHeritage has linked Phebe with a Gould... Why is the discovery only allowed to deny... and not give reason or know who is placing incorrect information on the site.
I work hard to make sure the information is as correct as possible and I do not like seeing other files with incorrect information.
Maybe I'm just not getting it but with the new layout for record matches I can't confirm straight from the source page.
Instead I have to first click "review match" and then "confirm match" which then takes (some time to load!) me to "extract information..." which I don't necessarily want to!
With a lot of matches this takes minutes for each match so I'm getting really tempted just to reject matches where I see there's no additional information for me. Why is there not an option to confirm match straight from the source page just as there is a reject match option?
First of all, as I am reading through the other forum entries, I heartily agree that the new matching format is confusing and inefficient. Your techies have a hard time understanding the age old concept "if it ain't broke, don't fix it". In my opinion, you have not only made a mess of the matching process, but also have made a mess of the Photo section.
My question today is,....Where do I find the option where one can "ignore" a person in the tree. I have been able to find the "ignore" tab for a family site in the "matches by source" section, but I cannot find an "ignore" option in the "matches by people" section. I have quite a few folks that have been put on my tree that I have no interest in finding any matches for them. In the "old days", one could easily hit the "ignore person" tab. Not now. Where is it hidden? If, for some reason, you took away that option, please bring it back.
In the past I used to receive an email notification when new discoveries or matches were found for my ancestors. I no longer receive these emails. Did something change? How can I begin receiving these notifications again.
Recently I got access to my "MyHeritage" test results for the autosomal DNA test. Then just discovered I could upload the results to the MYFTDNA (myfamilytreedna) website too, what I just did... then surprisingly I got few differences between the results from both sites.
MYHERITAGE said I have: 53% Italy, 11,6% from Scandinavia, 16,8% from East Europe, 0% Western and northernEurope.
MYFTDNA said I have: Western and Central Europe: 48%, Southern Europe 21%, Eastern Europe 2%, Scandinavia: 0%.
All this did help to mess up my mind ! Did anyone try the same? Is there a kind of explanation for that? Which one should I trust at most ?
In the last days I feel that you improved the order by relation so direct ancestor 8 generations is showed before that uncle's uncle and this works perfectly because its more interesting but the only problem is that now my father in law (and close wife's family) are showed in the mobile app like "distant relative" and in family site there's even not a relationship.
how do i block sites that have 20 thousand plus people in their tree as I am spending hours each day confirming 100's of matches with these sites and I am finding the majority of these are exact copies of what i have on my site. I woould prefer to be spending my time researching my own tree.
The photo discoveries are nice even though I would prefer the ability to pick which ones in a "batch" mode instead of all or nothing. What's silly is you may have dozens of photo discoveries out there and you accept one and you can do nothing for a day. This is rediculous.
There is a marginal justification for the policy of accepting only one tree discovery per day, since it actually adds people to your tree but it's a tenuous justification at best because there's really no reason not to allow someone to work through the discoveries that have already been made. The restriction should be on looking for new discoveries.
Photo discoveries don't change your tree so there's no reason at all to only allow one acceptance per day.
I recieved a message today from a Kathryn Bernett that she rejected a smart match with my tree. I checked it out and it is a perfectly good match. I then proceeded to contact her but for some reason there was no facility available in the veiewing screen to do so. I have never ran accross this before in all the thousands of smart matches processed. Is this a privacy setting by Kathryn or a hacker purporting to be Kathryn. I dont want to have my tree accessed by people who choose to be inaccassible themselves. Please advise.
! Did anyone try the same? Is there a kind of explanation for that? Which one should I trust at most ?
