Generating a chart in MyHeritage Tree builder and a large amount of are missing! Help.
Also I want the married name of women to appear for their name and in brackets their maiden name just as it works in online Family Tree. Why does this not happen! Please deal with this and give me some answerrs and instructions!
I just tested my mother-in-law. Knowing her ancestry quite well, I used it to make sense of the results.
We are very pleased with finding out that her mother was not only Ashkenazic Jewish but also had c. 15 % Sefardic ancestry (Iberian).
However, I am dismayed by the fact that the DNA from her Mordvin father caused confusion for the analysts. I was expecting him to be generally "East European" but he was 0 % East European. This is most likely due to the fact that his ancestral village kept Slavic immigrants at bay for a millenium, and so he had no Slavic ancestry and thus there is no East European (apparently defined as Ukrainian, Russian and Belorussian) ancestry. However, the non-Slavic ancestries that are represented in the database and are most closely related to the Mordovians were connected to him. And so the result made him a mixture of Nordics, Balts and Balkan peoples although we know that he was Volga-Finnic.
Moreover, my mother-in-law was 0.9 % Inuit, but knowing that there is no database content for nationalities between the White sea and the Bering strait (the arctic part of Eurasia), I take this simply to be arctic DNA that has trickled down southwards.
This makes me wonder whether Volga-Finnic and other nationalities will be represented in the future and if the results can be reanalyzed at that point.
Since the end of last year, when the professional former design of the online charts was amateurishly changed to the worse, religion and occupation have not been shown in the charts anymore (only the place and date of occupation, but not the occupation itself). I have asked the support several times for help, but without any answer and nothing changed.
Yesterday it did change: Additionally the places did not show anymore.
Today even the dates don't show anymore.
Even the options for these have gone.
What is the next step? Family trees without names in it with blanc fields only?
Would you please be so kind as to take a remedial action?
I say bullshit on these results. My results say I am 64% Central American and only 3% Native American. My last name is ShortbBull. My father's grandfather was ShortBull - no first name, just ShortBull. He was 100% Native American. What the hell is this Central American refereence. It doesn't make sense at all. Total scam. I want to know how I can get my raw data so I can upload it to Gencove and check the data.
I am at a loss regarding some aspects of this. The results tell me I am 36% English. I would have thought such a high percentage would mean a fairly recent English ancestor but going back 5 generations all my ancestors are either Scottish or Irish - about 95% Scottish. I can't test DNA going back, obviously, but the surnames and places of birth do not suggest any English connection whatsoever. I am amazed at the high percentage of 36% English yet cannot trace any historical evidence of this. Can anyone explain?
I have used three different charts - Family, Descendant and Sun Chart. They are inconsistent in treatment of names especailly maiden names. Family is what I regard as correct- it shows christian name married surname (maiden name). The decsendants chart shows christian name married name )maiden name( ie with the brackets reversed, while the sun chart shows christian name maiden name ie with no brackets and no married name at all. And in one case it doesn't show any surname at all depite correcly displaying his (twin) sister!
Helpline had great difficulty in understanding my problem with Descendants chart, and for sun chart could only suggest I remove maiden names , create chart, and then re-enter maiden names!
Clearly there is a bug in the last two reports but who is taking ownership and fixing them?
Hi I have had several attempts to print ("several pages on home computer") my tree. It never appears on my email. I have checked spam and all possible places. When I go back to the page it says Error or In progress. Two evenings now. Any suggestions? Thanks.
I went to make a sun chart of my family (I did this the other day with another side of my family and it worked), and the option to create a sun chart was just gone! I am really upset because the one I made the other day came out really beautiful and I wanted to make more. I was just wondering if anyone knew if it was just a bug in the system or if they removed the option for good? I checked their social media and there was no announcement of them taking it away, but I just want to be sure.
I've replicated this bug multiple times, and it's rather frustrating.
I always generate charts with no photos selected in the advanced options. The first chart is created properly (with no photos), but then subsequent charts include the photos despite the 'no photos' selection. This persisted for me in all generated charts thereafter until I cleared out my session, created a different chart type (in an effort to clear everything), and reset the advanced options to 'default'. Doing any of these fixes separately did not seem to resolve the issue, but doing all of them finally got me back to 'no photo' mode... for one chart. I'll also note that going into the settings and changing it to show photos, and then switching it back to 'no photos' does not resolve the issue either.
This led me to discover another issue: clicking the 'reset to default settings' button does not reset to default settings - my only guess is that it is reverting to settings for an old default that the website has since changed. The frames, font, and background were all different than the actual default chart I had generated the first multiple times, before resetting (to remove the photo bug).
I hope there is a resolution for the photo bug issue. I am constantly generating and deleting charts as it is, which takes a lot of extra time and processing power.
For the Batmitva of our granddaughter, I need to go back 13 generations. Upon receiopt of the book it stopped at 10 generations. Is there a limit in the software or where do I adjust? To go back to the year 1648 was one of the main reason to work in MH.
I wanted add the file of the family book (19MB) . The program did not upload the file at all. Tried twice.
When generating vertical ancestor charts using FTB (builds 8397 and prior) I have recently been adding the following Fact fields: birth, death, marriage, notes, person fact 1, and person fact 2.
The labels for birth, death, marriage, and notes are b, d, m, and n; and these make sense.
The labels for fact 1 (person) and fact 2 (person) are "TODO" which do not make sense.
Fact 1 and Fact 2 could be user-defined facts and do not seem to be reserved for any "to do" notations. Could these facts be labeled "F1" and "F2" instead of "TODO" or something similar that would make sense?
I can easily see the function to add new photo's or images to the profile of my relatives. The problem is that it never seems to actually complette the process. I can select multiple photo's and the system takes a few moments while it uploadst them. Unfortunately, after this is completed the little wheel spins and never stops. I end up canceling the process and then I never have the images show up. Any help that you can give would be appreciated. Thanks!
This "ethnicity" report basically just gives an idea of what my "nationality" is. To me, "ethnicity" would tell me am I Celtic, Briton, Pict, Norse, etc.? I already knew what countries my ancestors came from.
