Seeking information concerning the possible incarcaration of David LEE (b. February 1881, Harlan, Kentucky; d. unknown), husband to Sylvania NAPIER (b. 25 October 1885, Harlan, Kentucky; d. 24 October, 1944, Marion, Smyth, Virginia). Searches of US Federal Censuses 1900-1930 reveal the married couple living together (with children, listed in birth order: Lovie, William, Sarah, Myrtle, John, George, Gladis, Franklin, Edeth, Edgar, Theodore, and Allen - compiled from all Censuses). In the 1900 Census, the couple is still living in Harlan, Kentucky, but by 1910 is established in Wise, Virginia, where everything looks typical through the 1930 Census. However, in the 1940 Census, David was living in Tennessee (after living in Harlan again) as a "lodger" without an occupation listed, along with a list of 17 other men with no occupation listed, and a Clarince NARMON and a Warden NARMON as "Jailer" and "Asst Jailer" respectively.
Please find the citation for the 1940 US Federal Census in question below.

I am searching for origin information on Thomas STRADLING who lived in Middletown, Bucks, Pennsylvania, USA.My earliest record shows his marriage to Lydia DOAN (daughter of Daniel DOAN) in 1715 in Middletown. He died in nearby Newtown in 1764 and had nine children.I have no clue as to where he came from or who his parentage was.
There is the somewhat famous/infamous Thomas STRADLING of Alexander SELKIRK/Robinson CRUSOE fame. This Thomas disappears from history about 1710. However, I have no information to link him to my Thomas or otherwise.Email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Looking for information on the marriage of Jonathan Powell and Huldah Jaquith. Jonathan was born 16 December 1754 and died 5 March 1834 in Hannibal, Oswego, New York.
According to the Oderkirk Family Newsletter Volume 14 issue 1, Jonathan Powell was married to Huldah Jaquith. It states they were married after 1786, but this is likely a typo. Jonathan married Eva Felling on 26 November 1786, and Eva filed a Revolutionary War pension application after Jonathan’s death, so his marriage to Huldah was likely before 1786. However, the newsletter concerning the first marriage is unsourced.
Does anyone have the source for Jonathan Powell and Huldah Jaquith or have current contact information for the author of the Oderkirk Newsletter?
Is anyone else having trouble with supersearch not working. I enter search terms, click search button which changes to opaque colour and that is it. I have tried searching individuals, and then tried to access records . Same response. Have tried phoning, emailing but not getting any response.
I am relatively new to researching but have populated my tree and find working with census reports fine. My question is on birth, death & marriage certificates. When I get to an index of the person I am tracing and get the reference. How do I know without buying the actual certificate that its the correct person?
To give an example. I have a great aunt who seems to have died pretty young between 1901 -1911 as she is declared dead on the 1911 census. I also believe (but not certain) that she married a man between these dates (gleaned from another myheritage tree). I have progressed to a marriage index but not certain its them? This is probably going to be true for other research results, getting to an index but not certain before spending money on certificates to discover its not my relative?
I want to find out when this aunt died, was she married, any kids and what she died of. Am I approaching it the correct way or totally up the wrong thought process?
Most Kilcrease Trees show William Edward Gilcrist born in 1835. According to "The Red Hill of Florida "by Clifton Paisley and Jans VIew of the world "History in a Letter" he was 50 years old when he married Rhodain (age 19) in 1853. This William Edward is born circa 1803 settling in Gadsen 1848. He was referred to as General William Edward Gilchrist, but that does not appear to be true according to "My Autobiography by Charles Hentz". I do not know who is buried in the Western Cementery in Gasden, Quincy, Florida with a tombstone that reads General William Edward Gilchrist, botn 1835 died 1860.
I'm just curious, as I found a census record match for my great, great grandfather but the name was incorrect. His name was Daniel, but on the image of the census record, it's smudged and written partly over with David. Every other record has him listed as Daniel Skode, from immigration to marraige, death, children, etc. How do I notify the powers that be that this record is incorrect?

Received a Super Search Alert originally posted as my search in May and June of this year. The alert notified me: " Oops, we no longer have the info you requested " ( or similar ).What a waste of my time (and your "researcher") as all I needed was to contact the webmaster of the Geni site. My g-grandmothers surname is misspelled by ONE letter and am simplytrying to have it corrected. There are other sites on MH with the correct surname who would like to see their ancestor correctly acknowledged.
Through DNA, I recently found a previously unknown aunt and cousins (she is my father's full sister). I also uploaded my daughter's DNA from Ancestry. My Heritage shows my daughter's DNA connection to my aunt and to my aunt's granddaughter. My DNA shows a connection (24.6%) to my aunt but none to my aunt's granddaughter! How can that be?
Searching for any information about John and Dorthy Watetstradt that lived in danville illinois in vermillion county starting around 1868.
