Sometimes when I create a fan chart in FTB there is a line which goes continuously through the whole chart. That makes it hard to determine the connection of people. I figured out that sometimes when I change line width it goes away, but not always. I attached two examples of the same tree but one with line width 2 and the other with line width 3. Both have lines.
When I import pictures in my tree, the editor software turn the photo at 90°. There is no option to turn back. When I turn the picture of 90° before imporation, the software let it turned ... So all my photos imported from my computer are turned (90°).
Do you have the same problem ? Is there a solution ?
... Millennia Corporation and MyHeritage have started joint work on a new version of the Legacy Family Tree software — version 10 — which will include the optional capability to sync family trees to MyHeritage’s website...
Changed my Password to my family tree on MyHeritage. No problems, can sign in to MyHeritage whenever I want. BUT since changing my Password I can no longer Sync (Publish) between the Family Tree Builder software and my Family Tree on MyHeritage. Error message reads - "The password you have provided is incorrect, please try again. If you forgot your password, please click Forgot Password link below." I have also tried clicking on the Forgot Password link, retyped in my new password and got access to my Family Tree on the website, but still can't Sync (Publish) from the software. Hope you can help with this as Support at MyHeritage have not replied to my email.
I have a large number of pdf and word documents attached to people in Family Tree Builder. "Synchronize" uploads new photos, but does not upload documents to Myheritage. (A very few have uploaded but are blank in Myheritage). How do I do it?
I continue to have trouble syncing with online tree. I have uninstalled and reinstalled my heritage family tree maker, now I am getting an "error 11" message. If anyone knows what this means, I'd appreciate it.
Okay they make some sense, I am almost entirely of British Isle descent going back to the 1700s on both sides of my family. And my results have a significant chunk of Scandinavian DNA (which makes some sense being that Vikings used to raid Britain but the part that has me confused is the 0% English as I have done my family tree and I have a significant amount of English ancestors and many English surnames (Bonwick. Ferguson, Foster) ex. on top of that many of my ancestors lived in Southern Britain. So why does it why does it say 0% the Scottish and Irish part makes sense around where its at as I also have many Scottish ancestors (Campbell is my mothers maiden name).
PS. 23andMe made no mention of my West Asian background (though GEDMatch did mention Cyprus) and it also said I was only about 4% Scandinavian as opposed to 30%. What am I to make of these mixed results?
So I started an account supposedly 6 years ago. Downloaded the family tree builder and had a few hundred people filled out in my family. I stopped using that computer, I still have it and it works, when I got a laptop. I brought it up on the old pc and it's all still on there but whenever I try to bring it up using the email address and password for it on my laptop family tree builder it says I have no sites. Where did all of it go? I came on this site and typed in the email and password and it brings up my name but says I'm not a member. Why can I not bring up the family trees I had using the same information?
I did not get my photos imported to FTB 8.0 , with my family tree from ancestry.com , I downloaded GEDCOM file to my pc , and created my family tree , but did not understand creating media file how to . Any advice is helpful .
I have had to rebuild my PC after a hard drive failure, but can not get Family Tree Builder to install. Download gets to 96% complete before getting the message 'The family_tree_builder_8393.exe download was interrupted'. OS is Windows 10, and it is the same whether I choose to run or save the file. Support ticket #2017061510012667 raised on 15th June, but no response so far.
I have a large number of documents stored on my computer by person name. However, I now have over 4,000 people in my tree and only about 500 of them so far have folders of documents. I indicate those who have folders by putting a note in the notes field but there does not seem to be an easy way to turn this into a list. I suggest that you add a column to the person table in the selection view that accepts a small amount of text from the user - essentially a user-defined field. I do not see a way for the user to set which fields appear in this view and none of the fileds there now are appropriate for the information i want to show. Maybe an easy way to do this is to have a field that indicates if any citations have been linked to a person.
Like most of us, I have put an insane amount of time into researching my geneology. When taking all that information and putting into report form, I have a problem that I can't seem to fix. When the background of each person is printed it adds, "also recorded as..." and then repeats the exact same name 8 times... Does anyone know how to fix this?
LAURENT F. CARON (Mindy's great-great-uncle), also recorded as Laurent F. Caron, Laurent F. Caron, Laurent F. Caron, Laurent F. Caron, Laurent F. Caron, Laurent F. Caron, Laurent F. Caron and Laurent F. Caron, was born on 31 March 1928, in Nashua, Hillsborough, New Hampshire, USA, to Ernest Caron1494 and Roseanna Nault1495. He died on 16 February 2002, aged 73, in Nashua, Hillsborough, New Hampshire, USA.
Is it possible to insert a message in a specific tree to stop anyone posting to a duplicate site (in view of the fact that any of those individuals will be lost as that second site is redundant and can't be merged..!)
Can anyone please tell me a (preferably simple!) way of removing a duplicate tree that was inadvertently created way back when I started and didn't know what I was doing? I think it's about merging the data but I don't want to lose anything in the process of course!! Often now I'll be working on something and realize I'm on the wrong tree- extremely frustrating and I have to try and get it on the right one. hmmm..
I have many burial records where I have the actual section/plot information or even the GPS coordinates. I am trying to find a location in the tree builder to record this information so when I export people in a certain cemetery, the location information is included.
Has anyone else figured out where a good spot would be?
There is a bug in FTB that forbids you to upload/sync trees larger than about 270 000 records. This is what support tells me:
" The issue that wont let the tree to be synced is that currently, the tree has reached the limit of ID's that
technically can be synced. And the number includes ID's for persons cards, facts, records, photo's.
This is a rare situation and the number of users that have this issue is extremely low. This means that the fix is in the planning but it has no date yet."
My great-great-grandfather had 3 children with my great-great-grandmother and one child out of wedlock, who he recognized as his... For this, in Family Tree Builder I added an unknown person (the child's mother), with an unknown relationship (is there any oter way to do it?)...
But the problem is that, in the Family Tree online, instead of appearing next to his wife, he appears next to the unknown woman and their son... Is there any way of correcting this? I would like him to appear next to his wife (with their 3 children and their descendants), and then a line to this unknown woman, their child and his descendants... Is this possible?
