I exported a GEDCOM on June 22nd. and began a project in FTB. When I go to reporter NO images are exported . The imahges are on my computer and I can see head shots in the FTB. I have been chasing down this issue for days and as a last resort have sent in a request for help I DON'T HOLD OUT MUCH HOPE THAT ANYTHING WILL BE FORTHCOMING as no reponse has come for my otjher requests for support.
After receiving the email to change my passwords I went to the website and successfully changed my password. I then logged in to the Family Tree Builder and followed the directions given to change my password there. However, I keep getting the error message "Software is unable to communicate with MyHeritage . com please make sure your computer is connected to the internet." My computer is definitely connected to the internet there's no question on that. I am automatically logged in to the program when opening it (the Family Tree Builder) and there is no way to actually sign out. When following what we were given and I try to log in with my current password for the program, or I try the new one I set for the website, or trying to log in with a different account/change my password I get the same message every time the unable to communicate one. I can look at my tree still but I am unable to access the individual profiles or change or add any information on the tree. I was able to do all of this before changing my password on the website. I tried contacting MyHeritage and got no response. I have also tried uninstalling and reinstalling the program to no avail. Any information or help would be appreciated. Thanks.
Anyone else having issues with the Consistency Checker working? Mine hasn't worked for a couple months now and I've contacted them repeatedly and been told that they're working on it.
However the time it's taking to fix it is getting beyond ridiculous at this point so I'm wondering if it's some issue on my side of things. It's a critical part of the site for me since I want to fix any issues that are found, but without the ability to check for errors that's rather difficult.
After the cheery little message from My Heritage about the data breach I changed my password on the web site. I cannot get FTB 7 to either recognise the new password or allow me to enter the new one. The method shown on MH's help page does not work. There is no option to log in as a different member in the Sync (publishing) My Sites menu. Trying to log in as a different member using the sync settings menu does not work. The new password is not recognised.
I started doing research on a relative of mine by Marriage, actually two individuals, and would like to transfer them and all of the information to a seperate tree. I have over 20,000 discoveries and it would make it much cleaner if that would be possible to isolate them. I have a full subscription to the site.
Is there a report which can be extracted in table form, which includes fields showing who is related or connected to who? For example: Next to my name, a column would show the ID of my mother, and another Column would show the ID of my father. And likewise, next to my children's names, my ID would show up in their Father column.
Example. My ID is 1, my mother is 2, and my father is 3. Next the name column in the table I’d have two columns, [Father ID] and [Mother ID]. In the Father column would show the ID "3", and in the Mother Column would show the ID "2".
This would be very helpful when piecing direct ancestry together in spreadsheet format.
Hi, for health reasons I took a long period off and then had problems with my PC. I replaced the PC and reloaded up my tree which appeared ok other than the photographs whilst there, did not all load up.
Is there a way of storing and saving the photographs that you need to carry out to ensure that when you have this problem you do not have to go through inserting a awful lot of photos again. It was the same FTB version on both PC.
I would suggest some were ok as they did load up but I can not work out why?
How do I delete a whole family from my tree, I have accepted a few families from other trees as a match & then discovered they are not related in any way to my family, so I want to delete them, please tell me how it's done.
I don't use Microsoft Windows but have a Windows partition on my hard drive which I use once a year to file my income taxes. In July 2017 I became a paid member of MyHeritage. I booted into my Windows partition and installed Family Tree Builder. I loaded my GEDCOM file into the software and uploaded it to MyHeritage.
But since I never boot into Windows, I spent the next nine months adding over 1000 new entries into my family tree from the web interface on myheritage.com. In addition, I added many new facts and corrected many others.
Last week I had to boot into Windows in order to file my income tax return. While in Windows I thought it would be a good idea to update my Family Tree Builder data with all the new information I had added on MyHeritage. So I proceeded to use the Family Tree Builder "sync" feature.
Then I received a shock: The Family Tree Builder "sync" feature did not synchronize my Family Tree Builder data with my MyHeritage date--it obliterated my MyHeritage data, replacing it with my original GEDCOM.
Nine months of research was destroyed.
When I contacted MyHeritage for help I was told that I must have chosen "upload" instead of "sync. " In other words, their response was "You're an idiot." They also claimed that when using the "sync" process of Family Tree Builder the data on MyHeritage takes precedence over the Family Tree Builder data. But if that is true, why was my experience exactly the opposite?
The lack of concern shown by MyHeritage in this personal disaster is disheartening, to say the least, and unless this can be fixed, I will not be renewing my membership when my year is up.
Hi all, I have two things... first, I've just loaded the free version of the Tree builder, (v188.8.131.5253), and I'm liking the facilities it's got so far, but, it's so slow!!! I'm getting 'not responding' messages every time I submit a change, and it's driving me crazy already. I'm running a win 10 64 bit laptop, and I think it's only 32 bit software. Does anyone know if this could be the problem?
I tried to phone the caring customer reps for some comprehensive, personal assistance, but I'm barred because I'm not subscribed.
To be honest, I'm finding it less likely that I'm going to subscribe if I can't get the thing to do anything for ten minutes at a time, and can't get access to the support I need to make it run.
Anyway, if anyone is able to suggest a fix, I'd be grateful.
Secondly, I want to add a 'mother to a child' rather than a spouse on my family tree... it's for a child of a couple who never married, and split before the childs birth, so not partners, nor spouse, nor divorced or anything like that. But, trying to add both parents to the tree, it forces me to make them spouses. I don't think this is an unusual situation in this age, and I find it frustrating that I can't seem to record the facts as they are. Unless anyone here knows a way? Again, I was told that customer support is not available for me from My Heritage.
I find this just too buggy and unpredictable to be of use. Branches disappear and when you add another (son for example) the missing branch areppears. when you delete the newly created person, the whole branch disappears again.
It really is quite useles and wasteful in both time and energy,
I know MH does not provide such a tool, but gives a manual method for doing this.
My question is whether any enterprising MHer (or other enlightened person) has created such a tool to wizard you through the procedure of merging dupliacte entries of one person? perhaps working from GEDCOM file(s)?
