I have a large number of documents stored on my computer by person name. However, I now have over 4,000 people in my tree and only about 500 of them so far have folders of documents. I indicate those who have folders by putting a note in the notes field but there does not seem to be an easy way to turn this into a list. I suggest that you add a column to the person table in the selection view that accepts a small amount of text from the user - essentially a user-defined field. I do not see a way for the user to set which fields appear in this view and none of the fileds there now are appropriate for the information i want to show. Maybe an easy way to do this is to have a field that indicates if any citations have been linked to a person.
Like most of us, I have put an insane amount of time into researching my geneology. When taking all that information and putting into report form, I have a problem that I can't seem to fix. When the background of each person is printed it adds, "also recorded as..." and then repeats the exact same name 8 times... Does anyone know how to fix this?

Is it possible to insert a message in a specific tree to stop anyone posting to a duplicate site (in view of the fact that any of those individuals will be lost as that second site is redundant and can't be merged..!)
Can anyone please tell me a (preferably simple!) way of removing a duplicate tree that was inadvertently created way back when I started and didn't know what I was doing? I think it's about merging the data but I don't want to lose anything in the process of course!! Often now I'll be working on something and realize I'm on the wrong tree- extremely frustrating and I have to try and get it on the right one. hmmm..
I have many burial records where I have the actual section/plot information or even the GPS coordinates. I am trying to find a location in the tree builder to record this information so when I export people in a certain cemetery, the location information is included.
Has anyone else figured out where a good spot would be?
I recently had my DNA tested thru My Heritage and it was spot on (except for 16% Iberian???) I was 100% European. English, Southern Europe and the Iberian thing. When I expanded the percentages, it showed 0 Sweden, 0 Norway, 0 Finland, 0 Italian, 0 Russian. However when I downloaded my raw DNA to GEDmatch, well what a different story to say the least! According to the Admixture Heritage, my ethnicity is showing, Swedish, Norwegian, Finnish, Netherlands, Dutch, French, English, Irish, Welsh, Scottish, Spanish, Orcadian, with a spattering Siberian! As for the Dutch, French and English (touch of Irish) that is true but the Admixture shows Swedish, Norwegian and English being the primary. Why the discrepancy?
There is a bug in FTB that forbids you to upload/sync trees larger than about 270 000 records. This is what support tells me:
" The issue that wont let the tree to be synced is that currently, the tree has reached the limit of ID's that
technically can be synced. And the number includes ID's for persons cards, facts, records, photo's.
This is a rare situation and the number of users that have this issue is extremely low. This means that the fix is in the planning but it has no date yet."
My great-great-grandfather had 3 children with my great-great-grandmother and one child out of wedlock, who he recognized as his... For this, in Family Tree Builder I added an unknown person (the child's mother), with an unknown relationship (is there any oter way to do it?)...
But the problem is that, in the Family Tree online, instead of appearing next to his wife, he appears next to the unknown woman and their son... Is there any way of correcting this? I would like him to appear next to his wife (with their 3 children and their descendants), and then a line to this unknown woman, their child and his descendants... Is this possible?
Just wondering, I have some church snips, and I would like to copy and paste into notes. Does anyone know if this can be done? I would like this to be part of my family book, otherwise documents dont show up anywhere.
I've been building a picture family tree for my son, back to his great-great grandparents. It was working fine, but now, I can only use styles with NO pictures - I get a msg that the software encountered a problem and has to close. Any suggestions?
PS: it does work with only 3 gens, but I'd like to put his great-greats, and this was working earlier.
on home page there are mini-forms with email only for inviting another family members to MyHeritage. This forms are witten in relatively small fonts, and I have accidentaly invited my FATHER WITH EMAIL OF MY SISTER.
Then i want to invite correctly my sister with her email, but it is NOT POSSIBLE now (message like "Another family member have this email already"). I even deleted my sister email from my father entry in tree, but it won't help.
I'm new to My Heritage. Father has daughter born out of wedlock, unable to identify mother. Father marries and has son. Can I create a family that includes husband, wife and both children but makes it clear that as the wife has not yet adopted the daughter there is no formal relationship between them?
The output lists a second marriage on the row below the individual.
The issue is that the the columns around the second marriage name (row) are blank. When doing any filtering or analysis the blank cells are casuing omission and other problems. I would suggest filling the columns to the left of the person with the data of the spouse.
