I've tried to upload my DNA test from 23andme. I'm SURE I've followed the step indicated on the website but I keep having this message: This file does not appear to be a valid autosomal export. Please try again referring to the instructions above.
Would it be possible to do something? I already contacted you weeks ago.
I have made a number of people in my family trees "private" due to privacy concerns expressed by some people. I clicked on the "This person is private" checkbox and then synced to my Web site. It indeed marks the person private but the person appears as "Unknown" when I view the family tree.
I have seen some trees where the name of the person appears as "Private" followed by their last name/maiden names if applicable. I would prefer that the people I mark as private appear with "Private" instead of "Unknown." Is there any way I can do this?
This site is poorly built for those of us that are visually impaired and using a screen reader. I thought I had updated my home page welcome message, but I can't find it on the home page. What am I missing? Thanks.
I have recently returned to MyHeritage after a break of a couple of years and it seems the site has had an incomplete overhaul. The home page has changed out of all recognition, but there are some odd bits left behind that it allows you to set up but then doesn't use anywhere (if it does, I haven't found them). These include some of the home page settings (welcome message, random photos) and the genealogy settings (family tree summary, about our family, missing pieces).
I find this very disappointing. I liked the old site. The new format seems to be all about telling you there are new matches and then saying you can't look at them because you haven't paid. It's very hard work to find out anything about the family tree I have created; there are too many menu items relating to matching or research. I don't think I'll be coming back!
In the online family tree, some family members have a black band on the upper left corner of their avatar/photo/silhouette. I've searched the help site and forums and cannot find the key to what this means.
There is potential here for a feature request akin to a centralized icon key/decoder.
When I created my new MyHeritage account, I imported two separate GEDCOM files. I had exported them from Geni. One of the files was my blood relateives. The other file was my wife's blood relatives. Now, I think I have two separate trees in myHeritage. I'd like to have just one family tree. I'm not sure if this question makes sense, so please feel free to let me know if I can be more clear.
You do in fact have two family trees within your family site. As you are a "Complete" package subscriber (PremiumPlus site and Data subscription) able to keep the both trees within your site should you wish due to you having an unlimited capability for your family site.
I have also noticed that you are a FTB software user. Unfortunately at the moment the merging of family trees function within the software has been disabled whilst the development team work on it and we hope to have this back in the near future.
As a result the only option that you have at the moment is to either leave the family trees within your site or you are able to delete the one you do not wish to appear. To assist you with a family tree deletion then please take a look at the following two links I have provided for you. They will guide you through the steps needed for both the online family site and also the FTB software.
By cancelling or delteing your FTB software will not give you the ability to merge the family trees as this feature is not available via the online family site also and has never been available online.
Should you delete the family tree from within your FTB software then you will loose all of ths information that you percive to be useful such as documents and notes. Therfore I would recommend that you first scan the tree you think you may wish to delete and copy the information you wish to keep in order to upload it to the tree that remains.
Although I downloaded the FTB softare, I never used it, and never entered any information in it. I have done all my work online. So in my case, I am only interested in the online software. So my question is, I have previously imported two GED files that I downloaded from Geni.com, where I had a free acount. I chose to download two separate "bloodline" trees. One for me, and one for my wife's tree. Now, in your web site, I have two separate trees. I would rather have just one tree. Is it possible to merge the two separate trees into one?

I merged 23andme to my heritage family tree. Now I cannot get to my tree except thru 23andme. When I do, I am going as someone requesting membership and not as the site manager which I am. How can I get back to my tree as the site manager?
This is my last try to report MyHeritage bug and I hope it will not be ignored as the previous problems.
I create a person and put its job into its details. When the job string contains diacratics, these characters are lost when the tree is downloaded into Family Tree builder. For example, I write job "mistr pekařský" in Online tree, the FTB will contain "mistr pekask" only and this malformed string is transferred back to online tree on synchronization.
It does not happen, if I write such job in FTB directly.
Please, fix it and do not ignore people's problems.
