I get matches linked to other family trees over and over again. After checking most of these matches about 95% of them have no source citation at all ... is there a way to turn off getting matchers from family trees??
I've got 200 people in my family tree and almost all of them have a place of birth recorded in two languages (English, Russian). For some reason the statitics page on the website shows only two(2) known places of birth exist. Sometimes, if I reupload the tree usign the app, it does go back to normal, showing multiple birth places, but that goes away after a while.
I'm having a suspicion that it's somehow related to the dual language.
I see certain difference between advertisement and unsoliced pushing of unwanted promotion.
I have paid PremiumPlus subsrciption and I am feeling having the right to have the product without unwanted hyper promotions.
I am not stupid person and I am able to find the way for closing the banner. It is not fair saing that you did this cloing button for my personal convenience.
The problem is htat you do not see the problem of pushing the advertisement to your customers every time Home page and Tree page is opened. Closing the banner every time is not making your customers well minding about your company.
I am very sorry to see that MyHeritage is not customers oriented company, this will kill your business.
I seek you commitment that the designer of this promotion was the most stupid person at MyHeritage having left not much space for the original purpose of the screen. I really have never seen such an agressive promotion.
My wife is a member of (THAT OTHER MAJOR GENEALOGICAL PROGRAM.)
Recently, following advertising, she took advantage of THEIR special DNA deal.
Previously it was a bit expensive... for us anyway.
She was very happy both with the cost and (along with her brother) with the information received; and certainly she was happy with the fact that the organisation had advertised the deal, otherwise she would not have known about it.
As far as I know, MH shows many relationships more distant than what they define as 'close' as long as your tree has less than 5000 persons. But if you use FTB, it will show more distant relationships on FTB. Like you, I use it all the time---on FTB. Then do a printscreen to send to the persons in question. I have pestered them about this problem with the on-line tree more than once!
FTB is Family Tree Builder, the off-line version of the family tree, which I initially used to create the tree and have always used to update the tree and then 'publish' to the on-line tree (it's called 'syncing' nowadays). I do not use gedcom, because I don't want to screw up the format of my tree--I have had to use several work-arounds over the years to make it serve my purposes. But the on-line tree is public and anyone can take a look and download whatever is of interest. If others use gedcom on my tree, they do so at their peril.
Hi, l also hit 5000 people limit, rendering the web tool much less useful. However l have been avoiding usin FTB as it messed my tree up really badly once, either losing data or making it private, breaking connections etc. also it seemed to overwrite newer website content with older offline content when syncing.
Would you have any tips for safe usage, settings etc.?
