I was recently invited to view a family tree of a distant cousin. I wanted to start sharing information with her about our common ancestors. But I think she must've typed my first name into her tree and attached me to the wrong Adam. Now, whenever I go to my profille, it says I was born in 1855 Poland.
I look in the Help Center and it recommended I go to the "Site Members" section and "Fix Relationship." So first I created a new entry for myself. Then I went to fix the relationship. I found my correct name in the drop down and clicked the "Apply" button. But it doesn't seem to be taking affect. I'm still identified with the wrong person.
Is this something my cousin must change?? She and I do not share a common language, so communication is a bit difficult.
Somewhere in my tree one of my ancestors moves to the USA but I simply cannot find that person no matter which way I try to find them. I have tried the Pedigree Map but there are so many in the USA I can't tell who was first!
Seems to mostly be when I add engagement and wedding dates, or partnership dates, either on the family site or the tree builder. Next time they log in they will have deleted themselves! It's a pot luck as to whether they will still be there the next time I check or not. I am getting very sick of having to input the data over and over in the hope it sticks. Please help? I have recently paid for the upgrade and to find the site with so many faults is very frustrating. Thank you
This is correct, since these are Polish last names, and the wife's name is generally different than the husband's by the last letter.
I would like to ignore this one and then see what the other 29 issues are, since they may be import and, but I can't. Clicking on the link leads me to a paywall. Do I really need to upgrde to PremiuPlus to use this feature? Isn't there some way to ignore this one so I can see the next one in the queue?
I have attempted multiple times over the last 2 weeks to export my tree to a gedcom file, but I still don't have a file.
The site is not huge, currently: Onefamily treewith 474 people.
Each time I get the message that:
Your GEDCOM file is being generated now. This typically takes a few minutes.
When it is ready you will receive an email with a link to view it.
However, I never receive the email. I reported the problem on Sept 26, and recieved a ticket number via email, so my email is correct and working. But do not see any way to follow upon the ticket number. How long should I expect to wait for a real reply?
Is there anything I can try to do in the meantime?
My online family tree inexplicably had a name change several months ago - it acquired the name I had given to a chart that I had previously downloaded. Now I am trying to revert to the original name by following the instructions provided in the Help Centre I can get as far as Manage Trees but when I click on Edit Tree Settings the option to change the tree name as described in Point 4 of the Help page does not appear. Any suggestions?
I have a GEDCOM file which contains the path to photos on my PC. When I import this GEDCOM to my family site, the photos aren't uploaded. I found in the FAQ that MyHeritage uploads photos if they are mentioned in the GEDCOM as URL links. So I was wondering how to do the import when the photos are mentioned as paths to the files on my PC? Thanks a lot!
I recently upgraded to a Complete Subscription. Also have my large family tree entered into Family Tree Builder. When seaching for DNA Matches, my large family tree does not appear. It shows only immediate family. Do I need to manually enter my entire tree? I was managing my cousin's DNA results but after upgrade they disappeared. My site name and tree name are different, too. Can I delete my family site and reenter all my information to get my site better organized? Will there be a difficulty in retaining my upgraded subscription status if I start over?
I Have just noticed that my tree has some major issues, I'm not certain of the extent but the biggest issue seems to be that there is part of a branch from my grandmother that is missing, with several orphaned "limbs" that can only be found by searching for a name; there was 803 people in my tree, now only 665 people are shown. interestingly the people in the orphaned limbs still have their relationship to people in the main part of the tree.
Another issue seems to change based on reloading the page, a great grandmother who had a child with "unknown" is now shown to be married to her brother, and occasionally has an "X2" symbol on her card and then goes away when the page is reloaded.
The only thing that I can say that it coincides with is that I downloaded the FTB program and let it download the family tree, I'm not sure if that is the cause.
Has anyone had any similar issues, or perhaps suggestions to how to fix this?
What am I supposed to do? BOTH dates are correct. Meaning...... she was born out of wedlock and No one knows who the father is.

Could be new Step Father who married her mother 4 years after her birth. But that has not been confirmed.
In (LDS) Family Search you can disconnect her from Henry Noel and leave her connected to her mother.
If I disconnect her from Henry Noel in My Heritage, it automaticly disconnects her from her birth mother!!
Just wondering is there is a sort of "best practice". For example, I have copies of birth, marriage, and death certificates. Sometimes I may have a saved image from an index. When I create and event/fact and then a citation it looks like I have a choice to attach the image inside the citation itself, or to attach it to the event.
I am not able to add facts to any person in my family tree, I am neither able to add new citations and notes to existing facts. When I click the Add fact button and select the fact type, nothing happens.
IF I am on a Premium Family Site Plus subscription can the members I invite to my site use the search services or do I have to do all of the searches for them with my account since I am the subscriber?
I have stopped my subscription after 5 years because I was sooooo frustrated with the lack of response.
Having stopped the subscription I am back at basic and my Family site is well over on storage I know one implication of this is that I can't print a family book. It seems that another is that I can't export a GEDCOM - is this right ?
Part of my problem with storage is that Photos are stored on the internet and somehow the internet folder set up by My heritage has incorporated an internet store of photos I had for a photoalbum .
I cant get any one at My Heritage Support to help with any of these issues. They are only interested when there is money involved
