Wiersma Web Site

My name is William E Wiersma and I am the Webmaster of this site.This site was created using My Heritage.com. Families being explored are Wiersma (Wiersema/ Wierdsma), Van Liere, Elenbaas, Johnson/ Jansen and several others via marriage. Also tracking families of Lowe, Patterson, Boshuis (Bushouse/Bushhouse). Please note - This is a work in progress.  I have verification on much of the information, but not all, so I am finding bits and pieces in many different places.  Some names may be duplicates, since some dates vary, especially birth dates. Locations are slowly coming into focus for some individuals as well as family connections, BUT beware, some notes marked 'likely or possible' have NOT been verified yet.Also note that I have included the Fathers given name with a child.  If the parents are verified, I just include the fathers name, ie Henry, and if not verified I include a symbol after the likely fathers name ie Henry'.  This is to help me, and hopefully you, to continue the verification.  Finally, I find MANY errors due to mis-spelling or mis-interpretation of the clerk, especially census takers, in how to spell a surname.  The name Wiersma / Wiersema / Wiersina and Wiersum are just some of the spellings that all end up being the same person or family.  I try to mark these with a slash and show multiple spellings that I have found ie Wiersma / Wiersum. Most started in Friesland NL, some stayed and some came to the US. If you know parents, grand-parents and/or Great grandparents names and any applicable dates (birth, death, etc.) please let me know so I can begin to close the gaps. Once we get these, we will begin getting current generations also. I would like to especially thank Martin Wiersma from the Netherlands for his invaluable work helping me make corrections and updates to my Wiersma side of the data.
