John Louis Akard commented on person Samuel Bonum, Jr. :
Samuel's wife was Elizabeth Johnson. She was Mary Ball's half-sister. When Mary was 12 and Col. George Eskridge was made her Guardian, she split her time between Sandy Point, Col. Eskridge's plantation, and Cherry Point, the plantation of her widowed half-sister.
John Louis Akard commented on person Colonel George M. Washington Eskridge I :
The pictures for both George and Rebecca once hung at Mount Vernon. I believe the Virginia State Historical Society now displays them in Richmond, VA.
John Louis Akard commented on person Colonel George M. Washington Eskridge I :
While the exact source of his rank on Colonel might be in question, dying in 1735 definitely means that it wasn't a Revolutionary Militia.

John Louis Akard commented on person Martha Margeret Akard (born Watkins) :
You have Marguerite and George Akard listed here. In the 5 generation photo, the younger woman holding the baby, is Jacqueline Ann Akard Robinson. She was born Aug. 25, 1930. The three of them were living with his parents at 514 Dorman St., Indianapolis on 7/5/1932, which was both their 3rd wedding anniversary and the day and place of the death of George's mother, Susan Leona "Leo" Young Akard. Six days later, Marguerite gave birth to their second daughter, Patricia Jean Akard in the same house. Patty married Carl Elmer Plant. Today she passed away in West Lafayette, IN. Patty's dates are 7/11/1932-8/8/2015. She had 4 daughters and a son, and was a great grandmother several times. My name is John Louis Akard III. You will also see Patty's name in the 1940 Census.

John Louis Akard commented on person Anne Washington (born Steptoe) :
 http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=49746061

shows that Anne's mother was Dr. Steptoe's first wife, Hannah Ashton, not his second, wife Elizabeth Aylett Steptoe (born Eskridge)
John Louis Akard commented on person Samuel Washington :
 Samuel's FaG memorial at URL

http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=103941452

has the names and dates of all his 5 wives, the names of 9 of his In-Laws and two of his sons. Both of these sons were also mentioned in Gen. George Washington's will.
John Louis Akard commented on person Unknown Washington :
If you add Augustine's second child by Mary Ball, Elizabeth Lewis (born Washington) to your tree, I'll add the portrait of her.
John Louis Akard commented on person Unknown Washington :
This picture was cropped from a portrait of Augustine and George Washington, as a boy discussing the Cherry Tree.
