I am particularly keen to find any information of the three aunts of my paternal grandfather Thomas Yeates Nelson. His father and three sisters arrived in Sydney in February 1855 after sailing from Liverpool England on the "Gypsy Bride". I have no information whatsoever about what became of the three sisters, Sue, Eliza and Ellen. Their brother, John, was my great grandfather.
Update: thanks to some detective work at the State Library, I have now discovered that Ellen Nelson married James Marr in 1875 and had a good number of children, among them Charles Willam Clanan Marr who was later knighted and had an illustrious military and political career. He had five (?) children so there are more cousins out there! Thanks to Hilary who also found this info out as well. She reports that the other two sisters never married and lived in Glebe. The two unmarried sisters and John were the children of Thomas Nelson's first wife, whilst Ellen was the only child of Thomas and his second wife who made the arduous journey in 1854/55.
