If you check the RESEARCH THIS PERSON, you will find that, of the entries that mention a wife and children, the first 20 entries show either John or Walter or both. If this John is, in fact, Walter's brother, it opens up a large new piece of this jigsaw puzzle we call Genealogy, to you.
The Blount families major claim to fame might be through John's daughter, Elizabeth "Bessie" Blount. She was first Mistress of Henry VIII. Mother of Henry Fitzroy. Then she married Gilbert Tailboys who became 1st Baron Tailboys of Kyme as a result. They had Elizabeth Tailboys, 4th Baroness Tailboys, George Tailboys, 2nd Baron Tailboys and Robert Tailboys, 3rd Baron Tailboys. Then she married Edward Fiennes, Baron Clinton. He became Earl of Lincoln. The had Bridget Clinton, Catherine Clinton and Margaret Clinton. Each married well.
If you agree that Sir John Blount was Walter's brother, I have a bit of good news for you. Bessie Blount's first husband's sister Anne Dymoke (born Tailboys) was a direct ancestor to President George Washington. Gilbert and Anne's grandparents were Sir William and Margaret (Percy) Gascoigne. Margaret was directly related to Edward III. Though another daughter, Agnes Fairfax (born Gascoigne) they are direct ancestors of both the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge (through 3 different lines)The Duke and Duchess are 14th cousins, once removed. The Duchess is George Washington's 8th cousin, 8 times removed. I have collected about 200 names in a GEDCOM file called "The Duke of Cambridge" It covers the 3 lines from TRH the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge to Sir William Gascoigne. Whether you agree with my assessment of Sir John being Walter's brother or not, you might like to have this GEDCOM file. Genealogy is a monstrous jigsaw puzzle of, maybe, 60,000,000,000 pieces. You never know when a 200 piece section might tie into your tree. If you would care to have a copy of this GEDCOM file, please Email me at email@example.com and place, "Duke of Cambridge GEDCOM" in the subject box. There are countless programs that will let you view the file. I recommend Family Tree Builder, the free download mentioned at the bottom of your Home Page in My Heritage. Word of warning, don't agree to Sync this file with your online tree until you have carefully examined it. You can always Sync it at any time but you could be creating multiple duplication on your site, which you may not want.
Hope some of this was news to you and that it might further your research. Thank you for your time.
There is a book, digitized by the Internet Archives, called "Genealogy of the Shoemaker Family of Cheltenham, Pennsylvania" by Benjamin Shoemaker in 1903. It has a short biography of Peter Shoemaker that you might find worthwhile. You can see this at URL
This Biography runs two full pages. The next entry in the book is for Sarah Shoemaker, Palantinate Widdow of George Shoemaker. George died on the voyage. His widow arrived in Cheltenham Township, then Philadelphia County in 1686. There are several more short Bio's listed before we get to the Genealogical data. This book is about George and Sarah's descendants. I thought you might like the other bio's.
