A compilation of sources from the period between the 16th century and 1945, from catholic and protestant parish registers and information from other researchers from Germany and abroad. The geographical area of West Prussia as it was delimited in 1939 is now part of Poland.<br>This collection include many type of records, including birth, baptism, marriage, death, burial and other events.<br><br>"I think the great-grandparents came from the area of West Prussia or something like that... but I cannot give more accurate information...”.<br>Such a sentence was probably heard by most family researchers.<br><br>There are some entries, which may sound duplicated, originating from different sources with different spelling of name and/or place.<br><br>When looking for a name, please consider similar spellings (Names with Umlaut: ä can be looked under ae, ö under oe, ü under ue; names with double consonants can be written with only one consonant or change, e.g.: Rossdeutscher/Roissteuscher, Cluge/Kluge) and the like.
