Townsville Daily Bulletin Thursday 11 February 1937

WEDDING. CHRISTENSEN— TENNANT. On Wednesday, the 3rd of February, at St Joseph's Church, The Strand, the marriage of Kathleen Rose (third eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Tennant, Mitchell Street, North Ward), and Victor James Chrlstensen, (second son of Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Chrlstensen) was celebrated. The Rev. Father Kelly officiated. The bride entered the church on the arm of her father, who subsequently gave her away. Her wedding frock of soft white satin, was made, figure fitting with high cowl neck, puffed sleeves at shoulder and tight fitting at wrist. Tiny satin buttons were the only trimming. The skirt fell in folds at the back and ended in a court train. The beautifully embroidered veil was worn with a coronet of orange blossoms. Her bouquet of white and pink roses and asparagus fern with long satin streamers, finished a charming toil ette. The bridesmaids were Irene and Joan (sisters of the bride). They chose pale green taffeta. With these pretty frocks were worn, silver, lame halo hats and silver shoes. They carried early Victorian posies of pink roses, and asparagus fern, with long pink streamers. Mr. Louis Turner, of Ayr, carried out the duties of best man, and Mr. W. M. Tennant (brother of the bride) was groomsman. Miss Glbney presided at the organ, and played the Wedding March, on the brides' entry and departure from the church. At the reception, 60 guests were received by the bride's mother, who wore beige marocain, with hat to tone. The Rev. Father Kelly acted as chairman. Mr. and Mrs. Vic. Chrlstensen left for their new home in Ayr. The bride's travelling frock was an ensemble of royal blue marocain, relieved with pale pink hat and acces sories to tone were worn with this smart costume.
