Attended school in Brussels

1820 Age 16 years travelled with his mother to Rome where he received the Order of the Knight of the Golden Spur after an audience with the Pope.

Joined 2nd Dragoon Guards 1825.

Adjutant in the 2nd dragoon guards at Hulme Barracks c1830.

Retired from army 1833 Lieutenant Colonel.

Received Order of Christ of Portugal from the King of Portugal.

Dramatist and man of letters - after leaving the army wrote ( of Many ):

"Recollections of an Irish Polce Magistrate and Other Reminiscences of the South of Ireland " also " Welcome Guest "1862
