Mrs. Karoline Blum of Oacoma is Dead
Mrs. Karoline M. Blum died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Albert Muller, in Oacoma, Wednesday night, August 15. Had she lived till September 15, Mrs. Blum would have been 74 years of age. She was born in Baden, Germany, where she was married to William Blum. Five years after their marriage, they came to America and settled at Council Bluffs, and a short time later came to White Lake, where they resided for 35 years. In 1921 Mr. Blum died and Mrs. Blum came to Oacoma to make her home with her daughter.
She was the mother of twelve children, two of whom died in infancy. One daughter, Mrs. Endter, died at White Lake five years ago, and another daughter, Mrs. Wetterer, died at Oacoma four years ago. The other children are Charles Blum, Galena, Illinois; Mrs. Carl Mueller, Plankinton; Fred Blum, Galena, Illinois; Mrs. Theo. Shumaker, Parkston; Arthur Blum, Dubuque; Mrs. Albert Mueller, Irvin and Otto Blum of Oacoma.
A short funeral service will be held at the Congregational church in Oacoma Saturday morning and the body will be taken to White Lake where the funeral will be held at 2 o’clock in the afternoon. Burial will be made at White Lake.
