a v is. He was a well known fish merchant. Is in credited w it h having invented a special kind of skiff, about 15 fee t lo ng, designed for tuna fishing. He was the first presi den t of the Liverpool Deep Sea Guides Association. He als o wa s one of the organizers of of an annual tuna fishing d erby , that attracted participants such as the Astors and t he Li ndberghs. Wiiliam didn't retire from fishing until h e wa s 84 years old.
