The "Creswick Advertiser" of Creswick, Victoria, Australia in its Frida y, June 26th, 1908 reported:

" A remarkable local nonogenaria, Mrs Sleep, who is 92 year old, is at present in indifferent health. Such has been the steady sturdy virili ty of the veteran's matron's nature all through her great span of life th at she has been able to enjoy her reading with (without?) the artificial a ssistance of glasses.

Mrs Sleep has been practically a total stranger to sickness of any kind."

 

The "Creswick Advertiser" of August 14, 1908 reported:

"Mrs Sleep, of Victoria Street, whose illness we have referred to in pre vious issues, died at her residence yesterday afternoon, at the ripe old a ge of 92 years.

The deceased nonogenarian lived throughout her remarkably lengthy care er without knowing what a days sickness meant until the last few months, a nd was held in the highest esteem by a very wide circle of friends. In t he days of her activity, she was a kind and sympathetic friend to many, a nd rejoiced to do good by stealth. The funeral will take place on Saturd ay (tomorrow), the place of interment being the Creswick cemetery."
