Comments:
June Craft wed Israel  My maternal grandmother was a lady; she went to a seminary in the mountains of Tennessee and studied elocution. Her younger brother Stanley Harris also attended school there and her room-mate eventually married an older brother, Rev. Kemp Harris. The seminary nurse was Sarah Long (later Lindley) and recommended that my grandmother apply for the teaching job in Forsyth County which was near Sarah's childhood home in Dozier, NC. My grandmother recited poetry and my grandfather Arthur Long, who was Sarah's older brother, courted Mary with poetry books! One of her big Harris family inquired after his sister and hoped that she was 'getting along all right' with her school teaching job. My grandmother's prompt reply was that she was 'trying very hard to get a Long!"
