Legend is that he and his wife and their son, James W. IV, took the trainout to Temple, Texas , to visit his Father, James William Boatwright, Sr.,who, legend says, had run off to Temple with a sister (name unknown) ofhis wife, Sara E. Langley.This had to occur probably in 1887.He worked as a blacksmith for the L&N Railroad and lived all of his adultlife in Birmingham.
After he died 8 Oct 1932 in South Highlands Hospital in Birmingham, hewas buried in Elmwood C emetery in Birmingham, as later was his wife.
