Christianna died in 1876, after the last of 13 children was born. Thomas then married his housekeeper, Sarah Platt, with whom he had no chhildren. Confusion in records is caused because Sarah took at least two of the children for baptism in 1884, and was listed there as the children's mother; she was actually their step-mother.
