Shona Caird Hi Paul. the Bamborugh or bambury or banbury or bamborrow can be very confusing nobody knew how to spell it but the first on is the most popular. There are french connections .My grandfather used to tell us he had a French grandmother ,there was a marriage in the british consulate in Landernin .... John Caird ... Catherine Ceran is another name Maybe Johns wife I think Matilda bamborogh and David Caird met as children in France.I do not know why they were in france perhaps in the military or connected with the jute mills Catherine was probably the french granny

Helen Joy Green Dear Paul, I think we have contacted each other before through ancestry, I am connected to George Philip Fleming Caird, son of David Rattray Caird and Matilda Bamborough. There was another couple of spellings for Bamborough - Balmbro - Balmbrough- and Balmborough, I have followed these through and have found all the marriages and connections to Matilda's family.
I am Shona and Hazel's cousin.
Cheers Helen Zaslona
