Windows includes a system configuration utility that you can use to modify the startup settings for the computer. With this utility, you can remove a program that launches on startup.
1. Click the Windows logo button, and type "System Configuration" in the "Search programs and files" box at the bottom of the menu and press "Enter." A new window titled "System Configuration" will appear.
2. Click the "Startup" tab, and then click on 'Open Task Manager'.
3. Each item on this list is the name of a program that launches automatically when the computer starts up.
4. Click on Family Tree Builder and then click on the 'Disable' button at the bottom right side of the window.
