With the ‘Extract Info from Records’ feature, you can easily extract details found in any confirmed/saved Record and copy them – in just one click – into the relevant profile in your family tree.
This feature conveniently displays the information found in the historical record and compares it to the information in your tree, side-by-side. It highlights information in the record that is new or better than the corresponding information in your tree, which refers to cases where the historical record contains more elaborate information than in your tree.
Once you confirm a Record Match or saved a record in the MyHeritage Search Engine, click ‘Continue’ to proceed to Extract Information page.
In the ‘Extract Info’ page click the arrow buttons to extract the information you want into your family tree:
If you would like to select specific pieces of information to extract and save to your tree, use the < buttons to take information from the other family tree into your tree.
To undo the action, simply click on the < button again.
Notes:
The ‘NEW’ label indicates pieces of information that you don’t have in your tree and that you can extract from the matching tree.
The ‘IMPROVED’ label indicates information that you partially have, to which complementary information has been found in the matching tree.
The ‘DIFFERENT’ label indicates information that is different in the matching tree than in yours (see example below).
If you would like to save all the new and improved information from this match in one go, scroll down to the bottom of the page where you will find the button 'Extract all info':
Once you’ve extracted all the information of your choice, scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on ‘Save to tree’.
