How do I associate myself with my tree?

Updated over 4 months ago

On MyHeritage family sites, we calculate the relationship between a person who is viewing the site and other site members and family members in the tree.

But in order to identify the relationship correctly, the site member must be associated with the correct individual in the family tree.

We recommend associating all site members with the family tree so that we can understand their relationships with other individuals in the tree and display them correctly.

In order to associate yourself with a specific tree, please do the following:

1. Log in to MyHeritage.

2. Click on your name in the upper-right corner of the screen and select ‘My Sites’.

3. Choose the relevant Family Site from the list and click on it.

4. Move your mouse over the ‘Home’ tab and click on ‘Site Members’.

5. Next to your name you will see the empty field where you should enter a name to find the corresponding person in the tree.

NOTE: If you have already been associated with another tree, and you would like to correct the association to a different tree, click on the ‘More’ link on the right side and select ‘Fix relationship’.

Then you will see the empty field next to your name.

6. Start typing the name as it appears in the tree, in the empty field.

7. Select the correct variant from the pop-up that appears.

8. Click ‘Apply’.

NOTE:

If you have more than one family tree, you can only associate yourself with one of them.
