When you create a chart of your family tree, you will be prompted to select the chart style.
A chart style is a predefined style for a family chart. We have 18 predefined styles that are available for you to choose from.
If you create a chart on your online family site:
1. Select your chart style in the second step in the chart making wizard on your family site.
2. To create your own style, just click on the ‘Advanced customization options’ to choose from the advanced editing options available for your chart:
There you can personalize the chart by editing fonts, the size of the photos, the box and chart frames, and the facts shown in the chart.
For example, you can add your own picture as the chart background, among many other options.
If you create a chart using Family Tree Builder software:
1. Click on the ‘Styles’ button above the chart you have just generated to select one of 18 suggested chart styles.
2. If you would like to make additional changes to the chart, click on the ‘Options button’ above the chart view.
In the window that opens you can use various tabs to edit the chart look according to your preferences.
3. Click on ‘OK’ to save the changes.
