I have been looking for family member of mine. My grandfather was Ollean Leonard Wold and my grandmother was Birdel (Dye) Wold. My father was Drex Wold and my uncle Larry Douglas Wold had a daughter that was my cousin of course. We called her Punky. I have not seen her since I was a tiny girl, but still remember her and think of her alot. I am desperately trying to find her. I do not even know her real name. Can only remember her by Punky. I am not sure if she kept her last name or not when her and her mother moved away. I was born in 1973 and I believe Punky was atleast 2 or 3 years older than me. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Actually, I would love to hear from any family that is related!
Mishele, I am your father Drex's 1st cousin. My wife and I are missionaries at the Ogden Family Search Libray in Ogden Utah. Ole Wold is my mother's brother, and my Uncle. I worked for Uncle Ollean & Aunt Birdell on their farm in Blackfoot Idaho for several potato harvest seasons a long time ago. I am trying to learn more about your mom and dad, Drex and Frances. I have contributed information on www.familysearch.org, but do not know enough to complete several areas. Please reply, or you can register for all LDS websites by going to lds.org and completing the registration, which will give you access to the Drex Wold record, along with other relatves & ancestors. There is a complete pedigree on the Wolds there if you are interested. I hope you can find your old cousin and friend, Punky, maybe you should get in touch with Larry--I used to have his phone # but not any more. Please get back with me, OK? I would like to hear from you. Also, I would like to learn your mother's maiden name.
That was fast! Thanks for the quick reply. I remember Drex, he was a cute LITTLE guy--then! I hope you do go to familysearch.org and get registered, it is getting to be a very top quality website, and whether or not you are LDS you can go there and add information and make changes to info that's already there. That seems to be the simplest way for getting more acquainted with family members, other than Facebook--in fact, some call it Facebook for dead people-haha. But I did take the liberty of looking you up on Facebook and enjoyed your photos--looks like you guys are interested in horses! Now I am curious--I will look forward to whatever you post either on Facebook or familysearch.org., or reply to this, OK?
Why is Punky's story sad? Wasn't she Doug's daughter?
Please re-add me on Facebook! I have some sort of glitch in my phone and a bunch of people disappeared off there. I would love to keep in contact, and share any little bit of knowledge I may have.
Yes - we are very active in the horses with my youngest son, and baseball with the oldest. Drew, the oldest, is going to play College ball this fall. The youngest (Blake) graduates next year.
The Punky subject has always just been kind of an "off limits" subject. I am not too sure why. It's just always been an understanding. So I have always just respected the fact that it's not something anyone wants to discuss. However, I have always had a huge wish to find her.
I am so pleased you found my message on here! It is amazing to get to "meet" another piece of who I am!
Hi again, glad I found you on Facebook, hope we can get to know one another better, since we are . . . um, 1st cousins-once-removed? I think that's the relationship. Drex was/is my first cousin, so I assume you are the "once removed" part of the definition. As I said, I have questions, hope you don't mind . . . one that comes up when I see your full name on face book--Mishele Kay Regan Loera--I can guess the Loera part is from your husband, but the Regan stumps me, unless it was Frances' surname? Another is where and when were you born? And, since I have your attention, What about your Mom? I keep an Ancestral Quest record of family, so am just trying to fill in some blanks, so don't mind me if I seem too nosey!! :) Maybe if I had your snail-mail address i could just send you a family group sheet and get it all filled out once and for all. That would include your entire family, kids and all.
FAMILY HISTORY: Uncle Ollean was probably my favorite Uncle, since I worked for him a lot, and of course he paid good. :) I remember riding to and from his farm with a kid name Rod Cummings--he had an old Ford Model A, a very fun and reliable car! It took the washboard roads better than the newer cars. At that time Ole and Birdell owned a 1957-58 Olds with Hydramatic--the first automatic transmission in the US--but it still had a clutch, you just had to press the clutch to get it to shift gears. Birdell was a real hot-rodder!! She drove the dickens out of that car!! I baby-sat Doug, but we called him "Butch" then. He liked jumping up and down on the bed to test me, until I told his mom what he did when she was gone and after that, no problem! :) I never really got to know Drex, his mom and dad left Idaho falls before he got very old. I do remember Jeane, still have a photo from my mom's albums of her and her husband--from their wedding announcement, I suppose. I will try to scan it and send it to you first chance I get. More later. . .
