Hiya all, Does anyone know where I can find German Records. B M Ds? As I have some German ancestors in my tree. The Ehrhardt family. They lived in Braunsweig as far as I know. I am having great difficulty finding anything for them. So, if you could let me know of anywhere that I could get hold of some info then I will be very greatful. Thanks, Charlotte Stevens. PS - I have attatched a Pic of some of them in Germany in 1903. I hope it works!
This is a photograph taken approx. 1918 or 1919. My father is on the far right. They are the 3 oldest Ehrhardt boys ...all born in Ramona Kansas. Another sister was born in 1920 and then they all moved to California where two more brothers were born. I thought I noticed a slight resemblence. As I stated earlier....my great grandfather's name was George who resided with his wife Eva Elizabeth in Ramona.
I just saw your posting today regarding The Ehrhardt Family from Germany. In the early 1800s many of "my" Ehrhardt relatives emigrated to Russia because Germans were offered land and sanctions from serving in war as a show of good faith, when the Czarina Catherine asked them to move to Russia. Late in the 1800's (around 1880) they started having migrating to the US to join the family members that had preceeded them. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Germans_from_Russia
My father's family came from Bauer Russia, where his grandfather George Ehrhardt was born. He migrated from Russia to Kansas in the late 1880s. Many of the relatives landed in Nebraska, and even Canada.
I looked at your photo of the family and the young boy looks alot like members of my father's family. Hard to say if they were related or not. I have been looking for my great great grandfather Jacob Ehrhardt and his wife Katherine (or Catherine) Friesorgen...who would have lived in Bauer Russia.
