I am looking for any and all information about a Robert and Mary Fowler, that might have lived in SC in the 1920's. My husbands grandmother Nellie Jean(Jones) Henderson, passed away in 1955. Her maiden name was Jones. She listed her Parents name as Robert and Mary but had no last name listed. I was going through some old papers the other day, and in my father in laws baby book, in his grandmothers handwrighting it has Robert and Mary Fowler listed as her parents.
I don't have much information. What I do know has been passed down from family members. Nellie Jean was oprphaned when she was young. Her mother was in the Kitchen cooking when lighting came down into the house somehow and killed her. Nellies father was unable to take care of the kids and they ended up with the Salvation Army.
Nellie ends up being called Jeannie, and living in Covington, Kentucky with a captian of the Salvation Army and his family. She becomes pregnan, has the baby in Ohio, and the family keeps the baby as their own (this would have been between (1935-1938). Nellie is kicked out on her own at this point. I am just looking for any information that would tell me about her early years and maybe some link to her past!
I am trying to locate the mother, father and/or family members of a child born Evonne Jones January 12, 1952 in Brooklyn, New York. Evonne Jones since then had a name change after being adopted.
FACTS: Evonne Jone's biological mother was a young mother born in 1929. We do know that she had 10 siblings. She also had a son and he was also given up for adoption, the year is unknown. The family is or was located in the south eastern part of the states; maybe West Virginia, Virginia and relocated to New York.
I am the daughter of the adopted woman. If you have any information please send me message. Thank You
