My Grandfather immigrated to the United States in 1910 from Southampton on the ship the S.S. Adriatic. His name was Petar Turkovic and he was 20 years old. He listed his home as Sirac, Austria. But I can't find it, the only Sirac I find is Croatia. Is there any one doing research into the family tree of Turkovic. He listed his father as Petar also.
Petar and Jaga Turkovic from Sirac, Croatia had 6 children: Petar (I suppose Your grandfather), Ilija (my great grandfather), Đuro, Kata, Franjo i Bara. Petar is born 1910, but emigrated in US. (My great aunt mentioned Ohio).
I have photo from 1953. when Petar came in visit from US. It is possible that Your grandfather is uncle of my grandfather. I have some research into our family tree. Sirač was 1890. in Austro-Hungarian, so country of birth was Austrija.
Hallo! Sirač (not Sirac) is in Croatia, near Bjelovar - Bilogora. In 1910 this place was under Austro-Hungarian Monarchy: after 1st WW in 1918, Sirac became Croatian place.
