My g grandmother Maude E JACKSON DONALDSON CHILDERS b 24 Jan 1881 Ohio;
m Robert DONALDSON in Silver Bow Montana on 21 June 1904. Marraige application list her mothers name as MASSBANGAR and father as Charles JACKSON.
I am looking for information on either person. I have tracked Maude E JACKSON through the 1900 census and her family back through the 1860 census. It is unclear whether Charles L JACKSON was her father or her brother.
The only thing I know about the marriage to Robert DONALDSON is that it produced a son R DONALDSON who later changed his name to HAMILTON. It is not known why he changed his nam. He was my grandfather and admitted to the name change from DONALDSON to HAMILTON but never would give a reason. I have only this year been able to trace his mother Maude E to these names of JACKSON (listed on R HAMILTONs death cert as mothers name)DONALDSON (in Montana where R HAMILTON claims to have been born to Maude E and DONALDSON) and discovered the mystery of the JACKSON/JOHNSON/MASSBANGAR/MOSSBARGAR connection.
R HAMILTON's death certificate lists his father as Wm H HAMILTON and I suspect this to be a step father (as he claimed to have adopted a step fathers name).
So far I have not been able to connect Maude E (with any name) to Wm H HAMILTON.
At the time of Maude E JACKSON DONALDSON CHILDERS death she was married to 'Chilli" CHILDERS and was living in San Pedro, California. She may have had a sister or an aunt "Zola" also living in San Pedro in the 1930's and 1940's. Her death certificate lists her mothers name as JOHNSON.
The 1900 census shows Maude E JACKSON living in the houshold as 'sister' to Charles L JACKSON. Notable is the fact that two women also live in the household with names JOHNSON and MOSSBARGER. This is the only census I can find with Maude E in any household with these names.
Maiden names listed on various documents for Maude E are JACKSON, JOHNSON and MOSSBARGAR (MASSBANGER). Mothers first name may have been Affiah (Azziah) or Annie .
