I would appreciate any help in interpreting the words after my great-great-grandparents' names (Jakob Keller and Maria Leu) in the attached record of the birth of their son, Hans Ulrich Keller. I have determined that their birthplaces are listed as Niederonz and Rutschelen, and their marriage date was 27 March 1840. Do the words immediately after their names list their occupations? Thanks for any help.
My name is Ralph Lanz and I am looking for information about Jacob Lanz dob 10-17-1830 in Eriswil married Suzanna Walti 11-11-1854 in Huttwil. Jacob immigrated to the US in 1887 and died there on 3-6-1893. I can not find the exact date of his immigration to the US. I have found some of the dates for his children. I did obtain a church record that shows he lived at Tschappel, Rohrbach but I'm not sure what that means. Is that a street address and if it is how can I find the exact location of their home in the Huttwil area?
I am tracing the history of Benedict Dappen who came to America in approx 1850 from Bern Switzerland. I have no clue as to his ancestors. If anyone out there can help me locate or provide any information on him i would really appreciate it.
