I am a Swedish writer since many years and I am currently prepering my next book. It is a book about the Swedish migration 18-1920 and will take two perspectives.
First, the life of a family who stayed in the Swedish village Falun when their close to all their neighbours emigrated in 1850-75.
Second, the life of an emigrated family in US. How they experienced the life and how it was to raise a family in the New Country.
The family/ies I am in contact with in Swedish Falun know that a large group of Swedes moved to Arizona. This has been confirmed by Lars Ogerman at the Swedish Consulate in Pheonix. He directed me to this forum.
I wonder if anyone has any clues or input on this subject.

My 2nd Gt Grandmother. I have her marriage certificate 28th November 1874 to Robert Lewis. both age 23 bachelor / spinster. Her father is listed as Mark Folly, Labourer. I can't find any record of her birth - either as Hannah Maria Cookson or Hannah Maria Folly/Folley. All later censuses after 1881 state born in Rotherham, Yorkshire 1851. I have found Hannah Maria Cookson in Workhouse but born in 1849. I am wondering whether she may have been informally adopted. If anyone has any information or help would be much appreciated
