I'm new to this website and would love to find any information on my Great Grandpa Earl James Soelberg. I'm taking a family hisotry class where I have to find information on an ancestor. He was born in Mantua, Box Elder, Utah in september 26, 1892 and married Exie Alberta Singley. I'm not sure how to really find any information on him on this website. Thank you so much!

Need advice. In the 1910 US census for Florida - Washington Co - Chipley - District 0121 - page 29, I can find my great grandmother Lena May Boyett as a 7 year old girl. My confusion is, she is listed as the daughter in law of the head of the household, John Harry Boyett. How can a single 7 year old be a daughter in law?
I suspect the recorder meant granddaughter, as the listing goes, John Harry Boyett, 56, head; Luela, 56, wife; John, 30, son, Martha R, 28, DIL, (John & Martha married 10 years with 4 kids,) and then 4 children; Maudie, 9, DIL; Lena, 7, DIL; Cleo, 3, DIL; and Ollie, 1, DIL. A 1 year old daughter in law?
Or, would they be step children? Of John Harry, or of John? I would assume if John and Martha R had been married 10 years and Maudie was 9, they would be the children of their marriage. But I dislike assuming,....
Am I correct in thinking these are granddaughters, and not daughter in laws?
