I too am looking for information regarding the Wendorf name but looks like you spell name with 2 f's. My grandmothers maiden name was Wendorf according to her death certificate, they could have misspelled name. Her mothers name was Ottilie. My grandmothers name was Dororthy and married a Schumann.
My mother is a Wendorf. Her mother (Rusch) immigrated from Germany around 1904 with her parents and siblings. In Germany they were from Pommern, Kreis Regenswalde. The village of Alt Labuhn. She married my grandfather (Wendorf) in southern Wisconsin. His family also came from Pommern in the mid 1800s.
My Great grand father also came from the same area of Geemany. His family also went to Wisconsin. We always thought that as a smart mouth teen ager that he did not get along with his stepmother. His name was Guthoff Levi Wendorff. He came to Kansas , Leavenworth. He stay there for a while. He met Ellen Riley. Thry were married in the Catholic Church in Easton, Kansas. They moved to a farm about 4 miles east of Winchester, Kansas. Some of the names of their children were: Minnie, Mary Elizabeth,Henry, Charles, Louis (my grandfather), a couple more sons whose names I cant remember. He married a second time and named his two daughters Alvena and Isadora (Rachel). It was thought that those names related to his family.
I think that Levi's wife was Caroline.
