For some time now there has been a somewhat acrimonious discussion about the possibility that a George Tucker who died around 1805 in Cabarrus County NC might have been of German or Swiss German origins rather than part of the Prince George Virginia line often assigned to him. One of the primary reasons has been the supposed listing of a George Tucker on a 1758 or 1759 Rowan tax list in the household of Jacob Fulwider (Fullenweider aka Wollenweider) a known Swiss man known to have previously resided in Maryland and to have come to America on September 12, 1749 in the Ship Priscilla.
I have never seen the list but instead a list that shows Fulwider but no Tucker however I am assured that it exists. I have found a German who arrived a few days before Fulwider in Philadelphia on a different ship that departed from the same location (Rotterdam) and cleared customs and provisioned in Cowes on the Isle of Wight the same as Fulwider's ship at roughly the same time. That individual was transcribed as George Truke (probably one of the Drucke family that arrived from Wirtemberg over the course of several days in September of 1749). Could this in fact be the individual that waa later listed as George Tucker in Jacob Fulwider's household in 1759 in North Carolina?

I have ties to Spill CH and Arteny Belle Tucker from around Milan, TN in Gibson Co. I have found different spellings of Arteny. She was born around 1860/1861 and died in Bradford, TN 1-30-1949. She is buried in Bradford in the Old Baker cemetery. Spill CH or SCH and I can remember some of the older generation of my family calling him Bub Tucker, was born 2-20-1855 and died 12-15-1909 according to records I have found. He is buried in the Oak Grove cemetery outside of Milan, TN. Their parents were Edmund V. Tucker and Elizabeth Ann Horskins. Records show there were 5 children other than Spill and Belle. I would appreciate any information and would especially like to have pictures of Spill and Belle, if anyone has any. I can be contacted by email at: email@example.com.
