I,m looking for information for Clemence Robichaud. She was born in St. Charles the daughter of Simon Robichaud and SuanneDaigle. Her brother Pierre Simon born 1868 married Marie Poirier dau of Thadee poirier and Marie Blanche Richard in St. Ignace. Her brother Magloire born in 1865 married Melanie Gray i dont know her birthdate but she married Damien Robichaud July 29, 1885 did they have children? My mom and Dad went to visit her in 1932 she was living in Richibucto I think she had sons snd a daughter. might have remarried Daigle or Cormier?
I found a marriage record for a Marie Rose ROBICHAUD, age 22, daughter of Damien ROBICHAUD and Clemence ROBICHAUD, to Joseph Jean Baptiste CORMIER, age 23, son of Joseph CORMIER and Marie SAVOIE, on 25-Oct-1909 in St. Charles, Kent, New Brunswick.
There is a death record for a Clemonce ROBICHAUD born Aug 1862, died 22-Oct-1931 in Chatham, Northumberland, New Brunswick. Parents were Simon ROBICHAUD and Susan DAIGLE. While she died in a hospital in Chatham, the record says her residence was St. Charles, Kent, NB. She was a widow and the informant was her brother Maglore.
I am having trouble finding this family in the census records
There is a ROBICHEAU family in Kent in 1901 and 1911. Parents are Damien and Clemence. Children are Martin, Scholastique, Victoire and Rosanne. Rosanne is the right age in 1901 to be the Marie Rose who married in 1909. The other three children were born before Damien and Clemence married, most likely children of a first wife. Damien is 20 yrs older than Clemence.
I think that is probably the correct family with their surname misspelled. In the 1881 census I found Clemence ROBICHAUD, 18, with her parents and siblings living two households away from Damien ROBICHAUD, 38, his wife Marie, son Martin and daughter Marie. There is also a woman named Scholastique FONTAINE living with them, but I don't know if/how she is related.
As a note of interest, Melanie GRAY's family is living right next door. It looks like Clemence and her brother didn't have to go far to find their spouses.
