I am looking for death date and place of death for Jim Puggy (Navajo name:Doh-yal-thih-bega) who was born in northern Navajo reservation, San Juan, New Mexico in 1898.He died sometime between 1937 to 1940.His wife was Mary Louise Head (Navajo name:Na-dzis-pa).His brother was Jim Buck. His children were Wilson Buck, Tom Buck, Lucille Buck (Dale), Daisy Mae Buck (Johnson), Wilford Buck.
I am looking for the death or whereabouts of Preston A Pugh after 1875. Preston A Pugh was born about 1846 in Washington county, Indiana, to Nancy Pew, the unmarried daughter of John Pew and Elizabeth Grimes. Preston had two younger brothers, Hiram Wiley and John Wesley Pugh. Prestion married Mary E Johnson 8 April 1869, in Onley, Richland, Illinois, USA. Preston and Mary had three children; Marcus R., Bertha M., and Harriet M. Pugh, both of the daughters married men by the last name of Drake.
Searching for any relatives of Ivor James Pugh family (my grandfather) of Erwood, nr Builth Wells, Powys (formerly radnorshire), Wales, UK and surrounding areas. Also any Pugh relatives in Merthyr Tydfil area, South Wales, UK.
Ena Pugh and Lily Millward, who will be 100 years and ten months on November 4th, were given the accolade by Guinness World records after checking their birth certificates. Ena married railwayman Ivor who died more than 20 years ago. She still lives in her country cottage where she raised their three children - and now has ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren The sisters live just a dozen miles away from each other in the fresh air of the Welsh countryside - Ena at Erwood, near Builth Wells, and Lily still in her home village of Garthbrengy, near Brecon, but in a different house. ..... I met Ena last year at the old Toll House Erwood. She was in good health! Hope this helps!
We met Ena, along with a social worker, while looking at Erwood and surroundings for potential ancestors. We had a nice chat with her, and took a photo of Ivor's portrait hanging above the mantlepiece. There was a surprising resemblance to ME, and we all had a good laugh.
I think our family of Pughs came from Llanynis, Maesmynis, or LLandewi Cwm, and further North. We got back to about 1714 in LLanfihangel Nant Bran. Brecknockshire, and as far as I can see we aren't closely related to you.. Maybe in the 1600(?)
I have a hunch that the Pughs came from Montgomeryshire and Merionethshire with Llewellyn's army when he got defeated bythe British near Builth Wells.
Good story anyway.
Give our love to Ena when you see her,
I'm Ena's grandaughter, we all had a party 2 weeks ago for Nana (Ena) & Lillys 103rd birthday. They are both fit and well.
Just to let you know that my nana Ena Pugh who you went to see in Erwood, near Builth Wells, Wales has sadly died two days after her 104th birthday on 6 January after a short illness. Both Nana and Lilly were in separate hospitals on their birthday.
I will pass on your love to Nana (Ena) when I see her or speak to her on the phone.
It was really odd receiving a message from a David Pugh as my dad is also called David Pugh and looks very much like his father
I haven't got very far with the family tree as there's only Nana, my father and his brother Doug, and when you want to know something in particular like names & dates they usually can't remember on the spot, nowadays I carry a notebook with me so when they mention anything important I scribble it down!
We are sorry to hear of Ena's death, she was a vital and generous person, who we remember with affection! She was 104 years old, which beats the record for the Pugh's (as far as I know...) The nearest I found was Mary Pugh of Builth, who died in 1784 age 103.
I can have a look on Find My Past if you like, but I would need to be sure of Ena's Husband's name and date of birth.. I have an Ivor James Pugh age 4, son of David Pugh, living in Llandeilo Graban, Breconshire, father David Pugh, Platelayer, Mother: Margaret Ann in the 1911 Census. This would have made Ivor about 3 years older than Ena.
Dads father - Ivor James Pugh birthday was 14 November and nana (Ena) said he was 3 years older than her, ie born in 1907!!!
Dad remembers that his grandfather David Evan Pugh was a platelayer on the railway and his father also worked on the railway too.
The Pugh the family are buried in Llandeilo Graban just up the road from Gate House (Tollgate house) where you met nana (Ena)
- and also on the other side of the river in Erwood Chapel is where nana (Ena), grandad (Ivor James Pugh),
nana(Ena) & grandads son Harold Pugh, dads brother Leslie Bryan Pugh,
and also dad (David Ivor), Doug, and Leslie's mother Margaret Gwendoline Pugh.
There hasn't been a gravestone on grandad (Ivor James) or Harolds grave, but now one will be put up now nana (Ena) has passed away.
I've been trying, with no joy, to find out what dad's grandmother was called, only that she was a midwife who used to go around on a bike - thanks to you I now have a name
I'm very curious to know what you look like, and see if there's any similarities to my dad?
Many people who were either in school or sunday school with dad (he'll be 81 in May) came up to him after the funeral saying he looked just like his dad. When I was young dad had ginger hair, and now white - not sure what colour grandads hair was when he was young, but my brother also had ginger hair when he was young (luckily I was born with dark hair )
I hope you don't mind me asking, but is it possible for me to e-mail you a photo of dad from my personal e-mail address to see if you are alike (I don't understand a lot of the myheritage site, only how to put names on the tree!!)
and I'm not that much better on email either, but I do know how to attatch a photo
my email address is - email@example.com
