My name is Anthony D'Angelo (Tony) My Great Grandparents were Guiseppe and Sophia (Martuscello)D'Angelo. As far as i know there were two sons born to them Raffael (born 1888) (my grandfather) who married Lucia (born 1889) (born (D'Angelo) relatives tell me that she was a 4th cousin and had the same maiden name that of D'Angelo ????
The other child that i only know about was a great uncle to me Neal D'Angelo (have no info on him ).
If there is anyone in Pisciotta that can help me or a site i can go to for help please send me an e-mail.
I don't think I can help going back into Italian records, but I did find a few things about Raffael and Neal that you might not have.
There is a PA marriage record for Raffaele DANGELO, age 27, to Lucia DANGELO, age 29, on 2-July-1916 in Schuykill, PA. Groom's place of residence was Raven Run, W. Mah. Twnshp, PA. Bride's residence was Shenandoah, PA. Groom's parents were Jos. DANGELO and Sophia MARTUSCIELLO. Bride's parents were Cresenzo DANGELO and Isabella CUSATIS. This was a first marriage for both parties. All four of their parents were still living in Italy.
According to Raffaele's WWI draft card he was born 2-Apr-1889 in Carpeole, Calabria, Italy. His residence was still in Raven Run. He had a wife and one child. For previous military experience he states that he was a private for 3 years in the marines in Italy.
According to his WWII draft card he was born 2-Apr-1888. He worked at the HazleBrook C. Co. in Jeddo, PA
I think this might be his brother, Neal, in the 1920 census for West Mahanoy Township, Schuylkill, PA:
DANGELO, Neal age 29 b. Italy, immigrated 1907
wife Nellie age 30 b. Italy, immigrated 1908
dau Sophie age 10 b. PA
son Joseph age 8 b. PA
son Raphael age 6 b. PA
son Andrew age 5 b. PA
dau Mary age 3 b. PA
dau Annie age 1 b. PA
boarder DERENZ, Joseph age 40 b. Italy
boarder SELEANNDRA, Tony age 26 b. Italy
By 1930 they had added two more children to the family, Grace and Dominic.
On Neal's WWII draft card he states he was born 27-Dec-1890 in Italy but does not list a specific location. His residence at the time of registering was Raven Run, Schuykill Co. PA. He also worked at the HazleBrook C. Co. in Jeddo, PA.
I believe this is likely a family gravestone for Neal, his wife, his son, Andrew, his daughter Mary, and possibly his mother Sophie, which means she would have immigrated to the U.S. sometime after 1916.:
My Great Grandmother Rosalia D'Crisci arrived from Naples into NY on August 31st 1892 and listed Pisciotta as her last residence. Her parents were Alesandro D'Crisci and Giuseppa Ferulo. I'm pretty sure she had a brother Alexander who immigrated to US about 1900.I am adding Criscio in as this was how Rosalia's surname appears on her Marriage Certificate from Brooklyn in May 1893. I also am looking into any information on a Francesco and Gaetano D'Crisci from Pisciotta whom migrated to US about 1905 with their father, I think that there maybe a family connection.
Any information on any of these names would be fantastic and greatly appriciated.
