With a surname like Muller there must be somebody out there besides me who is trying to trace their family back??? Well then, I too, like you .. am trying to trace my Muller /Mueller connection.
I have a Joseph, b. 1786 in Alsace, (but we do not know exactly where) who d. 1853 in Marylebone, London, UK. He was an antiques / curiosities dealer and his elder son's ... 1). Joseph 1816, and 2). Henry 1818,where painter's & restorers within the family antiques business. There was also a daughter called Sarah 3). 1821 ..all where born to his first wife. We believe that she died prior to 1835.
Joseph then moves over to England settling in the Marylebone area of London sometime between 1821 / 2 and 1835 .. bringing his remaining family with him and re-marries. This time, to an Elizabeth Foreman who is at least 15 years his junior. In 1835 the first child of four is born to them. 1). Josephine, 1835, 2). Lucien, 1836, 3). Gustave, 1838, and finally 4). Alsacia, 1840. Alsacia is my direct relative but I am interested in finding out about any of the family. And more importantly where they came from.
Alsacia went on to marry a Joseph Michel MORET the son of Joseph Moret (1819)and Elizabeth Harriet MORLEY (1819), in 1872, the Strand, London.
Josephine marries twice the second time to a chap called Samuel BRIGGS.
Does any of this tie in with anybody else's Muller family from either Alsace or Lorraine areas? Would love to hear back from anyone who could either help point me in the right direction or has any information that might be useful to me ... many thanks . Best wishes all. Su.
