The family tradition says he went west with a wagon train to OK sometime after the Civil War. I can find no record of him in NC after the Civil War except that his 17 year old daughter Mollie was buried in Rockingham County, NC in July 1884. If he left without his wife he could have been gone by then. Any information on Uncle Green would be greatly appreciated.
I am looking for information on the Morphis family in NC prior to circa 1850. I have Stephen F Morphis son of James Morphis and Fannie Strayhorn living in Rockingham County from about 1830 onward. No information on James and Fannie except their names in the family bible listing them as Stephen's parents.
