I have just been "tasked" in re-searching my Wife's Scottish ancestry., I have given her Father's name, as above., arn't sure of his birth year or where he was born.,as a rough estimate, born 14th November 1913 in an Aberdeen district. He married in 1946 in Turriff, Aberdeenshire, to Margaret Anderson Milne - m/n Thomson. He was brought up by his Grandparents, names not known., and he died in 1973/74, in Turriff, Aberdeenshire. Any information, clues, hints or positive Knowledge, will be greatly and very much appreciated. Micro-fiche no. 247/00/004 refers to their marriage, in Turriff, in 1946.
LOOKING FOR INFO ON ANY RELATIVES OF THE MILNE FAMILY.
MARY JOSEPHINE URQUHART BORN 1899 ABERDEEN, SCOTLAND, MARRIED JOHN PATRICK MILNE IN JULY 1923, EMIGRATED CIRCA 1928 WITH ONE CHILD, SETTLED IN DENVER, COLORADO, WENT ON TO HAVE SEVERAL MORE CHILDREN. ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATFULLY ACCEPTED.
James M. Milne and Christina Stepel (?) had 2 sons, Clarence F. Milne and Clifford Andrew Milne. Clarence F. Milne is the father of my grandfather, Clyde E. Milne.
I believe James M. Milne is one of the 9 children of Andrew Milne (1836, Scotland) and Jane Stringer (1838, Ireland) but I am not certain of this. If this is correct, I believe the parents of Andrew Milne are David Milne (abt 1813) and Isabella Sampson (abt 1813).
Any information on the Milne family who came from Scotland and settled in Iowa would be helpful.
