born probably about 1760 in CT, and is known to have been in Marlow, NH in 1790 census and in later years is found with family in Waterford VT. where he purchased land. He is believed to have been a preacher with the "Free Will Baptists".There are census and other town records showing their presence in several VT communities, including ST. Johnsbury, Wheelock, Northfield, Concord, Huntington, Stowe and Starksboro. He was last known to have been in Starksboro, VT shortly after 1850.
The surname may have been spelled "MAYNARD". There are indications of possibly two wives, with the latter being "Fanny" and several children. Some of the children names may have been Benejah JR, Richard, Alden, Calista, Ellen, John, Darius and Roxanne.
