About The Black Ancestry Network Group (The B.A.N.G.)The Black Ancestry Network Group LLC (B.A.N.G.) is a research-driven initiative dedicated to reconstructing genealogical B.A.N.G.’s work is grounded in documented historical research, including census data, Freedmen’s records, land and probate documents, church registers, and oral histories. Where appropriate, DNA-supported research is used as a complementary tool to strengthen lineage connections. Participants who join the project’s MyHeritage family site may access DNA testing services provided directly by MyHeritage at reduced rates, helping ensure affordability and accessibility for families and elders.
