When does the “Dare to Sing” competition open and when does it close?
The competition opens on Monday, 8 April at 12:00 P.M. GMT and closes on Sunday, 28 April at 20:00 P.M. GMT.
Can people from any country enter the competition?
To enter the competition, you and your fellow participants must all be legal residents of one of the countries participating in the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest.
Does it cost money to participate?
No purchase is necessary to enter or win.
What should be the opening frame of my video?
It is highly recommended that the opening frame of the video shows most of the group members inside the vehicle (and NOT a black screen or text).
Does the car have to be parked throughout the filming?
Yes. The video must be filmed with all group members inside a safely parked car, bus, or any other vehicle.
Is there a minimum age requirement?
Minors (under age 18) may participate only if the group’s representative is their parent or legal guardian.
Can a video entry have more than 5 people?
No, the competition is open to groups of up to 5 people only.
Can we sing non-Eurovision songs in our video?
Sorry, you can’t. In all entries you must sing past or present Eurovision songs.
Can I appear in more than one video?
Nope. Each group member is allowed to participate in one video.
Do all group members need to register online?
No. Each group should designate one of the members as the group’s representative. He or she shall be the contact person who will submit the entry for the competition, and accept the Terms and Conditions on behalf of all group members. The group representative must be at least 18 years of age or older.
What will happen after I upload my video?
After uploading your video, you will see a blue checkmark (
) on the Registration Form and you will receive an email confirming your upload. Your video will then be reviewed by our team.
Should I upload my video entry on Facebook AND on YouTube?
No, please choose only one platform when completing the Registration Form and entering the competition. After you finish registering, feel free to share your video as you like.
Why can’t I see my video, even though I’ve uploaded it and finished registration?
If you’ve just finished registration, we may be reviewing your entry, which can sometimes take a couple of days. Another possibility is that your video did not comply with the Terms and Conditions, and was therefore disqualified.
How long can my video be?
Videos must be at least 10 seconds long, and no longer than 180 seconds long.
Where will the winning group members stay in Tel Aviv?
The prize includes 3 nights of accommodation nights at a luxurious Tel Aviv beach hotel, including full board (breakfast, lunch, and dinner), subject to the Terms and Conditions.
How will the winning video be selected?
The 10 videos that receive the greatest number of votes (“hearts”), will reach the final stage. A panel of judges, comprised of leading independent professionals from the music industry and MyHeritage senior employees, will select the winning video by a fair scoring process.
When will the winning video be announced?
Announcement of the winning video (the video that received the most points from the Judges) will be published by 2 May, 2019. The winning group’s representative will be contacted by 3 May, 2019 and will receive details on how to claim the prize.
What type of tickets will the winners receive to the Eurovision Final?
The winners of the competition will receive VIP tickets to the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest Final on 18 May, 2019 in Tel Aviv, Israel, subject to the Terms and Conditions.
Can I upload videos filmed inside or outside the MyHeritage Eurovision Bus?
Videos can also be recorded inside and (only for the Eurovision Bus) outside in a close distance to the MyHeritage Eurovision Bus. More details and the tour route can be found at: https://www.myheritage.com/eurovision/bus/
