About our family
The Pierce's originated in England and settled in the PA. area in the 1600's. They were Quakers. They migrated from there to Virginia and on to Missouri and Nebraska.
The McCollums came from Scotland in the very early days of the USA and migrated from North Carolina to Missouri and westward, with many of them ending up on the west coast.
The Nutsch Clan came from Germany in the 1860's and settled in Kansas/Nebraska. If you meet a Nutsch in the United States it is of some relation!
The Blums immigrated to the US in the 1860's also and settled in South Dakota and Nebraska, with one branch of the family settling in Galena, Illinois.
I'm currently researching Daniel Johnson born in Kentucky in 1812 and died in Missouri in 1867. He was married to Sarah Ann Hayes and they had one daughter Alice Roena Johnson Pierce.
Also Louise King, married William Vinzant/Vanzant. There seems to be some evidence that says she was a full blooded native american, but I'm having some trouble tracing her. She was the mother of Anna Vinzant, married to Enos McCollum. Some claim she was born in Ohio where other's claim she was born in Virginia, around 1800. She is buried in Indiana. I have however found some Kings that were married in Indiana in the 1830's but have not yet connected them to her.
Also I am looking for the parents of Robert Green of Missouri or any other information on him. Probably born about 1854. Census reports of his daughter claim he was born in Kentucky. He died in Missouri and I beleive he is buried at the Greenwood Cemetery. I have found other family members buried there and unless he is in an unmarked grave, have not been able to locate his place of burial.
